Chapter Seventeen

Elena jumped to the front seat immediately, and Matthew opened the door.

“I’ve missed sitting with you.” She said, closing her eyes and sniffing his car.

Sarah opened the back door and sat down, leaving Matthew in the driver’s seat. Before he could reach for the Bluetooth, loud music blared out of it suddenly, making both Matthew and Sarah cover their ears.

“Elena!” Matthew yelled out.

“I’m sorry.” She replied with a cocky grin on her face.

She reduced the volume to the minimum without saying anything, humming to the sound, and bopping her head back and forth. Matthew stared at her with raised brows, wondering if something was wrong with her or if he had done anything that made her start acting like this.

“Let’s go, or are we staying in the car for something?” Elena voiced out when he won’t start the car.

Matthew carried his eyes off, sighing tiredly before starting the car.

“Don’t drop me first. Let’s drop Sarah off before you drop me off. There’s no one at home, and I’ll be bored.”
