Chapter Eighteen

Elena woke up very early the next day. She had things to do, starting from finishing her last night's assignment to quickly preparing breakfast for herself and her mother. She didn’t know where she got the energy from, but she did all of it. She packed a mini breakfast for Matthew, too, his favorite, toast bread with scrambled eggs, before proceeding to take her bath.

It was not until she finished all she was doing that her mother stepped out of her room.

“Hi, Elena,” she said as a yawn escaped her lips.

“Hi, mom. You came home last night. I hope everything is fine. You don’t need to bother about me getting to school. Matthew would be coming for me. And there’s breakfast for you already, just seat, eat and go to work. I love you.” She rambled out, picking her plate and flipping to the chair.

Clara's eyes widened as Elena’s words sunk into her head. There was breakfast and she was already ready for school. The part that got her was the breakfast. Hastening her steps, she rushed to the
