Chapter Thirteen

“Ahhh.” Elena woke up the next day with a banging headache. She fluttered her brows and sat up immediately, a low whine coming out of her mouth as she removed the blanket from her body.

“Ahhh,” she groaned as she managed to get to the bathroom. Splashing water on her frowned face, she saw her surroundings and noticed she was in her bathroom. The lines on her forehead deepened as she tried to recollect yesterday's incident.

“Elena, are you awake!” She heard her mum yell out as it further increased the pain in her head.

Clenching her jaw and walking out of the bathroom, the door opened, and the sight of Clara standing in the doorway was the first she saw.

“Hi baby, how are you doing?” Her mother said, a glass of water in her hand with a small plate.

Elena nodded at her, taking her seat back by the edge of the bed as her mother walked to her.

“Thanks,” Elena muttered as she collected the glass of water and the small plate.
