Chapter Twenty Two

Matthew loved driving. He had learnt it from a very young age from his father, gone on trips and do anything that involves him and the fresh air. The first time he was with the wheel was when he was 13, seated in between his fathers legs with his small hands on the wheel, his fathers big one engulfing it.

And at 16, he got his car. His very own gift for passing his junior school gracefully. His father got him a teacher to help him until he was perfect. He was staring at Elena, who was seated in the passenger seat, and Sarah, who was beside him, without saying anything. A dreading feeling washed over him, and he was not excited to enter the car or even press the pedal.

“Are we just going to stand down and not move? I’m hungry, so can you guys just come in and let’s go.” Elena spoke out.

Sarah removed her hand from Matthew’s, walking annoyingly to the car and opening the back seat.

“Thank you,” Elena muttered before turning to look at Matthew,

“Would you come in too?” She added with a
