Chapter Twenty Three

Elena woke up as early as she could the next morning, going with her routine and cooking breakfast, but things were a little different that morning. Her mother had woken up earlier than usual and met her the minute she finished packing Matthew's breakfast.

With raised eyebrows, she walked up to her daughter and touched her suddenly, causing Elena to jump off in shock.

“Mum, you can’t come at my back like that!” She yelled out.

“And why do you have plenty of food today again?” Clara said, ignoring what she had just said.

Elena eyed her, walking back to the box and tying it up before carrying it off.

“Matthew and I are eating lunch together with one of my friends. Not Silver, though, but we’re eating together.” She replied without turning back to face her mother.

“And you’re taking my food for that!”

“It’s not like I cook every day, and you have only me! So let me take it for today!” She yelled back before entering her room and shutting the door.
