Zephyr's POV

I laid my head at the edge of the bed. Morrigan laid still on the bed. It had been a whole week since she had lost consciousness.

The pack doctor had checked her and said everything was fine. He said she was okay. But if she was okay, why hadn't she regained consciousness.

I tightly shut my eyes and placed my hand over my aching heart. We were just starting to get along. Why was this happening to us?

I opened my eyes and lifted my head off the bed. I looked at her beautiful face, her lips were pale. I hesitantly clasped our hands together.

So cold.

Her hands were so cold. I brought her hand up and lightly kissed it. “ Wake up soon, I am waiting for you.” I whispered.

My other hand caressed her hair. She was so beautiful. I bit my lower lip and took a deep breath before placing her hand down. I got up and placed a light kiss on her cheek before heading out.

Morrigan's POV “My lifespan. It was all i had, so i gave up half of it just to become stronger. Strong enough to challenge Jason and his witches.” She smirked. Half of her lifespan, wow and all for revenge. My eyes moved away from her smirking lips to her eyes. They were glossy. Even though she was smirking her eyes were saying something else. She was clearly affected by telling this story. “All for revenge?” I questioned. “Yes,” She replied, “all for revenge. They had taken away everything and everyone who was close to my heart, so of course I did what I had to avenge them." “ Jason hadn't noticed anything suspicious, he was a stupid son of a bitch. As my power grew I quietly began going after the witches and everyone that had taken part in my pack's massacre. It took them a while to notice the growing number of missing people, I had a great head start. I bit my lip. Revenge is a dangerous and dark place. It consumes you slowly and by the time you realize it. It would be to

Morrigan's POV My leg bounced restlessly under the table. My great great-grandmother sat across from me. What the actual fuck was this!? She let out a loud chuckle and placed her hand under her chin. “Good genes.” I quirked a brow at her sudden comment. Seriously, why was I seeing a dead person unless I myself was dead. “Look…uum..Morri….grand….” I let out a heavy sigh and threw my hands up, “what the fuck should I even call you?” “Morrigana is fine by me, I am not like my daughter all too uptight and unfun.” She said with a smile on her face. I slowly nodded my head. This was surreal. My mother had never spoken about her parents let alone her grandparents. All I knew was that they had died before I was born. “How did I end up here if I am not dead?” I asked. “The Ruins,” she picked up an apple and tossed it into the air before catching it, “I am connected to this place.” “The Vile Fang's territory?” I questioned. “Yeah, this is where I died.” She bit

  • Morrigan And The Alpha Of The Vile    CHAPTER TWENTY NINE: GREAT GREAT-GRANDMOTHER

Morrigan's POV “Are you okay?” Kierra asked, watching me closely. I slightly nodded my head. Ever since I woke up my ears had been buzzing and I didn't know why. Today was the day we were going to bury the deceased pack members. So many had died, my heart squeezed painfully. I should have helped earlier, if I had there wouldn't be so many casualties. I let out a loud sigh and straightened out my clothes. Kierra gave me a small smile, her eyes were filled with sorrow. How could she not be sorrowful, the people she knew had lost their lives, their homes had been destroyed like it was nothing. “Let's go.” She said her eyes were swollen, probably from crying. We walked side by side following behind the group of people. We stopped in a grassy area. The air was heavy with sorrow. The cries were so raw, they stabbed at my heart. Kierra was silently sobbing beside me. I knew the pain of losing people you loved, it felt like you were drowning with no way to escape. Just sinking to

Zephyr's POV “We have gathered all of the deceased.”Ronan said, his eyes dull. My gaze dropped to the floor. I was ashamed, I had let my people down. The young, weak and vulnerable died at the hands of Malakai and his pack. If it weren't for Morrigan I would have died. My people would have…… I let out a low sigh. “Ronan,” I called, “do they hate me.” I whispered. “No, Zephyr.” He said without any hesitation, “they know how hard you fought to protect them.” I ran my shivering hands down my face. I didn't understand how they managed to get into my territory without being detected. “There is a traitor.” I said looking up at Ronan. “Zephyr, we'll find them after we put our people to rest.” Ronan replied. I nodded my head. We both walked out of my office in silence. Most of the houses were burnt, my pack was in ruins and my people were hurt and mourning the loss of their loved ones. This was the first time we had been attacked and suffered a great loss like this. Malakai th

  • Morrigan And The Alpha Of The Vile    CHAPTER TWENTY SEVEN: TRUTH

MORRIGAN'S POV I should have ran faster and further away. I wasted the chance I got and stupidly got caught. It hadn't even been two days and I was already back here. The moment I saw him I thought I was hallucinating but then he began running towards me and I realized how real it was, so I ran away. I ran with all my might but in the end I was caught and dragged back like I was a child. Maybe if I hadn't been exhausted and hungry I could have ran faster. When I left I thought I was never going to see him again, I had forced myself to leave while he was passed out. But it was all in vain now.He stood in front of me his brows drawn in confusion. This was my famiy curse I didn't want to tell anyone else about I but this time I had no choice because it involved him too. Maybe once he found out the risk of having me as a mate he would reject me. It would all work out, right. I wiped my tears away and sat down on the bed. I motioned for him to sit with my eyes. He watched me as if I

  • Morrigan And The Alpha Of The Vile    CHAPTER TWENTY SIX: NO ESCAPE

I desperately followed her fading scent. My claws tore through the soil and leaves as I ran. My chest burned, lungs screaming. I wasn't fully healed yet but she was gone. How could she leave? Why? Was she planning to leave this whole time? Of course she was, after all I was the one who forced her to stay. I ran faster, harder, desperation clawing at my chest. I had to find her, I knew she was somewhere out there. I couldn't let her go, never. A desperate howl tore through my throat, stupidly hoping that she would answer my desperate call for her. But the silence that followed tormented me, I frantically turned my head looking again and again. Morrigan, where are you? Goddess please let me find her. I jumped over a large rock, her scent was stronger than before. I stopped in my tracks as my eyes locked on her. Her molten gold fur glistened under the sun. Relief surged through me. I took a step forward, a soft groan escaped from my throat. Finally I found her. But before

  • Morrigan And The Alpha Of The Vile    CHAPTER TWENTY FIVE: MINE

CELESTE'S POV I ran my hand over his beautiful face, a smile gracing my lips. Zephyr Dusk, this beautiful man. How could I let another have you? You were made for me and only me. I did so much just to be with you, so how could I let someone else have you. I ran a hand through my hair. I hadn't seen him like this in a very long time. Ever since David came into the picture, he never slept next to me again. I just kept hoping that he would, but he never did. After David's death I tried so hard just to get him to look at me again. All I got was his body but not his heart. But I didn't lose hope, because he allowed me close to him so I thought there was still a chance for him to open up and give me his heart once more, but then that bitch showed up. I clenched my jaw so tight that it ached. How could the moon Goddess do this to us. She separated us, we were meant to be together forever. She pulled us apart, why? I was supposed to be his mate and he was supposed to be mine. She

  • Morrigan And The Alpha Of The Vile    CHAPTER TWENTY FOUR: ESCAPE

MORRIGAN'S POV “Why did you leave? You were so close to me.” The voice sounded distant this time. “Just leave me alone.” I muttered, my voice flat. A distant scoff rang through the fog and she repeated the question. “Why did you leave?” My shoulders sagged, I let out a weary sigh. I was exhausted even in my dreams. Leaving was harder than I thought, it took a big toll on me. I ran for three whole days without stopping. I didn't know how Zephyr was doing and that made my heart ache every single time I thought about the condition I left him in. The moment I stopped fatigue took over and I shut my eyes, but even in my dreams I couldn't catch a break. “Please just stop.” I begged, covering my eyes. “I cannot leave you alone. Go back to the Vile Fang pack.” She commanded. I ignored her words and sat down on the hard ground. I was never going back, never ever. This was for my and Zephyr's own good. If I didn't stay away, far away, we would both suffer. I missed him
