“I cheated on you with Samuel? You’re talking about Samuel, right?” I asked, incredulous.

Julian pinched the bridge of his nose. “Yes, Samuel. Are you happy now that I’ve said it?”

I couldn’t help but laugh.

“Why would you think that I cheated on you with him?” I continued with a hint of amusement in my voice.

“I don’t think you cheated, I know you did,” he said firmly, his voice tight. “And don’t even try to deny it.”

You’re the leader of your team and you can’t be caught slacking.” This wasn’t the first time he had called me to his office over the past few weeks. Ever since Julian had shown up in Texas, my life had been a total mess.
