Anderson walked out of the conference Hall, his secretary and a few other head staffs running behind him to meet up with his pace.
"What's next on my schedule?" He asked her, making a sharp bend towards his private elevator.
"You have a business meeting with Deluxe by nine concerning the business proposal we offered," she said.
"Okay. Joey?" He called.
"Yes , Mr Riecke?" Joey ran up to him, bringing out a pad and pen.
"I need all the accounts from every department, in my office before the end of today."
"Yes sir," Joey nodded, scribbling something on his note.
"And-
Anderson's words trailed off when he noticed Reynard stepping into the company.
"Hello brother!" Reynard smiled, taking the dark shades off and making his way towards Anderson.
Anderson paused, instantly stopping the rest of his workers as Reynard stood in front of him.
"What are you doing here?" Anderson asked him.
"Why? Because you're the acting CEO doesn't mean I can't pay my the company's HQ a visit," Reynard shrugged.
At the words 'acting CEO' Anderson noted the look of surprise on the faces of his workers. Thanks to Reynard, they are all now aware that he isn't officially their CEO.
He ignored their gossip stares and turned to Reynard.
"Well, enjoy your visit," Anderson replied him plainly and began walking past him to the elevator.
"Why so formal, Anderson?" Reynard asked, stopping him. "You're not even sure if your position in this company will be exterminated today," he added.
Anderson frowned, his palm curling to a tight fist by his side.
"Infact," Reynard walked to stand beside him, "I think I'll be the one running father's companies soon."
Anderson's jaw tightened, his fist trembling in anger.
He glanced at his workers and found them all looking downward, none of them daring to raise their head up.
"Enjoy it while it lasts," Reynard whispered in his ear before finally walking away, his laughter echoing in the hallway.
"Get the car ready" Anderson said to his secretary before stepping into the elevator, seething.

Katherine added a last touch of makeup to her face and stood up, smiling at the perfection. She walked to grab her bag that had her folder and CV, the heels on her shoes clicking on the concrete floor as she walked out of the door.
"Dad, I'm off!" She informed him, Xavier turned to look at her from the newspaper he was reading.
"Another interview?" Xavier asked.
"Yes, I'll be back soon."
"Alright honey, be careful!"
"Sure."
Heading into the van, she inserted the key and started the van before driving off.
At the company's venue, Katherine parked the van and got off.
She stared at the big company before her, it appeared to be made of glass but it was impossible to see anything going on in the building's interior.
She grabbed her bag and climbed down from the van, walking towards the entrance.
"Hello Miss," the security at the door accosted her. "May I know your purpose for being here?"
"Er, My name is Katherine, and I'm here for the interview," she said, bringing out her phone to show him the text.
"Oh right," he said, "go on in. You'll see the others waiting at the front hall, you can join them." he said.
"Thank you," Katherine said and walked in.
Arriving at the interior of the company, she inquired for directions from the receptionist. After confirming her words, the receptionist handed her a tag with the number 10' and directed her to a hall where the other interviewees were.
Katherine occupied a vacant seat.
"Tag number seven, please come with me for your interview." a man came in their midst and announced and a lady, dark skinned and petite stood up and followed him.
Glancing at her tag number and suddenly feeling pressed, Katherine turned to the lady beside her.
"Excuse me," she said and the lady gave her a look.
"Hi," she said when she got the lady's attention. "I believe you're here for the interview?" Katherine asked.
"I am," she answered stressfully.
"Good, I am too. Can you watch my bag while I make use of the restroom real quick?" Katherine asked.
"Sure. But you have to be really quick, I'm only two numbers away from the last person that got called in," she informed, revealing her tag that had the number seven.
"I will. Thank you," Katherine said and walked out of the hall, arriving at the front desk.
"Hi. Could you tell me where the restroom is, please?" She asked.
"Of course. It's just by the corner right there," the receptionist replied sweetly and Katherine thanked her before leaving.

Anderson arrived at Deluxe, his secretary alighting and opening the car door for him. He climbed down and adjusted his tie. Letting her carry his briefcase, they head into the company together..
Arriving at the front desk, Anderson caught sight of a lady just walking away from it. He paused, a deep sense of familiarity hitting him.
With her back at him, Anderson recognized her walking steps.
"Sir?" His secretary called, wondering why he suddenly stopped. She traced his gaze and it landed on a lady walking away. Anderson paid her no attention, his gaze intent on the woman who looked very much like his ex-wife or could possibly be her.
He watched until she disappeared into a corner.
Thoughtlessly, he made to follow her, taking a step forward.
"Mr Riecke!" A sharp voice halted his movement and he turned to see Julio Deluxe, walking towards him with a huge smile. "I'm so glad you made it," he said, offering his hand for a shake, Anderson took it with disinterest, his mind occupied with thoughts of the lady he had just seen.
"This way, please," Julio led.
Anderson nodded dryly, his gaze darting to the corner she had vanished into, he stared at it for a moment before walking to where Julio directed.
As he walked, he tried his best to control the urge to look back, to check if the lady that he saw is who he had in mind.
Katherine, his ex-wife.
If she truly is back as he thought, he wondered what she was doing there?
Why she looked almost unrecognizable in just their four months of separation.
As those thoughts lingered on Anderson's mind, he shook them off, wondering why he was even thinking about her.
What she does isn't his business anymore. He tried to accept that fact but somehow he didn't. He couldn't.
Somehow, he was still restless about that lady whose identity he wanted to confirm, and with that thought, he regrettably concurred to the urge and turned towards the direction she had passed through again.
.
Katherine watched him anxiously as he went through her credentials, adjusting the spectacles perched on his nose bridge at intervals. Her palms stayed glued on her thighs as she waited for his statement. Finally, he raised his head to look at her, putting the papers aside. “Well, miss Tetrazzini, I’ve gone through your informations right here,” he pointed to the folder and Katherine nodded. “You are undoubtedly fit for the job- Katherine sensed a but in that statement and when he mentioned it, she gulped nervously. “But,” he continued, adjusting his glasses again. “Looking at your marital status, it states that you are divorced and approximately three months pregnant currently, is that right?” he inquired and Katherine nodded. “Yes sir.” “Well, I’m sorry miss Tetrazzini but your state is against this company’s policy. We do not hire pregnant women, especially for the position available, which you applied for.” He dropped the bombshell. Katherine’s mouth open and closed as she c
..."Mr Anderson?"Anderson shifted his gaze from the white van that had just zoomed past, leaving a dusty trail, to his Secretary who was still holding the car door open for him. He turned back again, to look at the direction the vehicle had passed before hopping into the car. When the car began moving, Anderson's thoughts trailed to her. Had she been in town all along? If she is still together with James, then she must be living a good life. Their schemes are alike, and just like him, James is quite rich.Betrayers and cheats should only be with themselves. He huffed, why is he even thinking about her?Even after four months, she still wore her shame with pride. Just how shameless can she be?"Where is the destination, Mr Anderson?" "The headquarter," Anderson replied."Are you alright, sir?" Shania asked, having noticed his sour mood, "you look a bit tight, do you want something to drink?" "No," his response was cold."I don't mean to pry, sir but that lady back there kind of
...Katherine exhaled lightly before accepting the seat she was offered in the doctor's office, she waited for him to finish up with whatever he was doing at his desk before attending to her."I'm certain you are aware of your father's condition?" He started and Katherine nodded twice, gulping at nothing."I am," she vocally intoned."Well, I will not go into details and explain the reason he passed out because the most important thing you should know is that your father needs to undergo surgery for a heart transplant as soon as possible. He's been suppressing it for too long and the suppressants are no longer as effective on his system. The best option right now is an immediate transplant." "How soon?" Katherine asked, batting her lashes to push back the tears."It will be fantastic if we can commence today, the waiting list is long but your father's is at the critical stage and he can be attended to immediately, but it all depends on you," he expatiate. "If he is not operated on in
.. Katherine glanced at Yvonne who was busy weaving, she felt relieved seeing her so concentrated and detached from all the dilemma wrapped around her head. She dart her gaze to the computer again, refreshing it for a reply. "Katy?" "Mmh," she moaned a response to her, her gaze fully scanning the screen of the computer. "Is Daddy not coming home soon?" Her palm instantly stopped moving the mouse and she let out a low sigh before turning to Yvonne whose hands and concentration was on the weaving. "He is. He just needs a few more rest days at the hospital. He'll be with us in no time." "Will he not be sick anymore when he returns?" "Yes. He will be just fine and we'll all be together for the longest time." Katherine's lips shifted into a smile. They were just words but Katherine wanted herself to believe them too. "What about the hospital bill? I don't think we have enough to cover it, Katy." "Right," Katherine shifted her gaze, thinking her response carefully, "but I'll ge
...*Deal.*Katherine read the simple text that popped in her phone the moment she stepped into her room. As she threw the phone to the bed, heaving a sigh; she realised that just like her, Anderson was desperate, seriously desperate and Katherine was certain he wouldn't have considered her if he had other options. Or is this a method of his to punish her?At least she now had enough to settle Margie, It's been two months already and she's yet to get her payment. Even though she had never once complained about the delay, Katherine knew it wasn't right. She had her own problems too. It would be the first time she experience such delay with the Tetrazzini's, her father never owed any of his workers; even when they had quite a lot. Margaret especially, had served them dutifully for over ten years without any doubt, she constituted the figure of a mother both to Yvonne and her. After that, she could use the balance to cover a little from Xavier's medical bills. Katherine leaned backwa
....Anderson arrived at his parents and got to the central hall where the rest of the family were settled including Suzy, Renard's supposed Fiancee. Anderson couldn't help but cringe at their lovey dovey gestures. Renard disengaged from Suzy when he sighted him, "Always the last one to turn up, not commendable at all for a CEO." "You know Anderson, his work life is more vital than his social life," Marcus chipped in, raising a taunting brow at Anderson.Anderson scoffed at him without a verbal response, he turned to his father to give him a proper greeting before settling down. "Hi, you must be the first one. I'm Suzy," she smiled at Anderson, as if purposely trying to make her expensive braces obvious to him. The first one? Anderson gave her a light grimace. Studying her face, he realised his mother's description had done no justice to her actual looks. A doll appeared too graceful compared to her. "I was told," Anderson gave her a brief look, ignoring the handshake she offere
....Now, standing in front of the gigantic residence of the Riecke's, another round of battle began blobbing into her mind. She clutched her purse closer to her skin and walked towards the entrance. She was allowed entrance without a word and before she could get to the door, Rosa came running towards her. She politely took her purse, leaving Katherine no room to decline."Good afternoon miss. You must be Mr Anderson's lady, they're expecting you." They? The Riecke's? Did he already tell them of her coming? The thoughts made the hair on her skin rise.Katherine took another look at Rosa, it was at this moment she realised Rosa didn't recognize her. Did she wear too much makeup?Or maybe Rosa never expected her to show up at the building again since her relationship with Anderson already ended. Transporting to reality, Katherine discovered Rosa was already walking towards the building door, she quickly ran uncomfortably in her heels to reach her and get her purse but the older woma
....."Drop me," Katherine said, drawing her purse even closer to her thigh."I'll take you home." "No, I refuse," she said, holding the door to open it. She turned to him when she realised he made no move to stop the car, "Anderson--"Are you just going to act oblivious to what happened?""Yes. Because it doesn't involve me," she answered him. If she had known accepting his offer to take her home would erupt this much effect in her, she would have declined. But with his parents watching and waiting for them to leave, Katherine felt it would be unusual rejecting his ride after the act they pulled up in front of everyone. Anderson heaved a sigh, his fist rigidly holding the steering. He hated how desperate he was and how he was vividly showing it in front of her.He had to send his chauffeur home just to have this moment with her but she obviously was trying to get out of it. "I mentioned you."Katherine went mute to that. "I wish to get down now, Anderson." "I don't want to do th
