When she returned to the city after spending the previous week with her mother, she paused for a moment to consider whether she should go to her own apartment or Ricardo's, who had not beeped her phone once since the moment he drove away a couple of days before.

She later made the decision to to go into her own apartment.

"Dear, please accept my heartfelt condolences for your loss." Summer hugged Lisa as she walked into their apartment.

"I'm fine." Lisa responded while fighting back tears that threatened to fall whenever her thoughts returned to her father and the realization that she would never see him again.

"I'm truly sorry."

"I'm fine."

They released each other, and Lisa went straight to her room, where she carelessly dropped her bag and flopped down on her bed, thinking about the time she had spent with her father. Suddenly, the images shifted, with her father being replaced by Ricardo.
