Summer scaredly locked the door the second Lisa walked in and went to the window to see if someone was following Lisa.
"What are you doing?" Lisa inquired as she approached Summer, who was still staring out the window."Trying to see whether you have been followed.""Stop acting silly." Lisa murmured annoying, strolling to one of their worn-out chairs, dropped her bag on it and seating down."You can't understand." Summer said as she drew down the blinds and headed to the second couch."Who is she?"Summer placed her finger on her lips to silence Lisa. "Don't talk too loudly; it's dangerous." She whispered."Now, you're scaring me." Lisa whispered back. "Who is she?""She is Ellen Swift."Summer said the name as if Lisa ought to know who she was but Lisa didn't. "Who is that?""I asked him, I mean my brother, the same question.""So, who is she?""She is one of Mr. Adrian Swift's daughters."Lisa sat up straight with dRicardo and Lisa went home right after work on Wednesday evening."Good evening." A lovely woman with a heavy makeover, who was standing at their entrance door with a box, addressed them."Good evening." The woman was unfamiliar to Lisa, so she responded with a professional smile on her face."Hello, my name is Laura. I'm a professional make-up artist."Lisa looked Ricardo in the eyes, but he feigned not to notice and moved passed the two women."Make-up artist?""Yeah." The woman responded with a smile. "I'll do your makeup tonight.""Oh..." Lisa said, a nod of her head accompanying her word."We don't have a lot of free time on our hands. We have to hurry up.""Okay."The two women entered the house, and Lisa promptly excused herself to take a shower. She hurriedly showered and changed into the stunning silver dinner gown that Ricardo had ordered for her before returning to the sitting room, where Laura was sitting calmly.
Lisa's phone rang on Friday of that week as Ricardo was taking them back home. She took her phone out of her bag slowly, checked the caller ID, and then answered it."Hello." She said into the phone, a smile on her face."Lisa." Summer called with a troubled tone in her voice."Summer?""I'd like you to come home right now."Lisa's brows knitted together in puzzlement, "why?""For the result.""Do you really mean it?" Lisa asked, casting a glance at Ricardo, who was focused on his driving."Yeah. Where exactly are you? Do you want me to come and pick you up?""No, don't be worried. I'm already on my way.""Hurry.""Okay, Fine. Bye." Lisa said as she hung up the phone and tucked it back into her bag. She turned to face Ricardo and said. "Can you drop me here?"A confused look crossed Ricardo's face as he slowed down and tilted his head in her direction. "Why?""I want to meet someone."Ricardo shrugged his sho
Lisa was baffled as to why her thoughts hadn't even wandered to the window until now, but she doesn't seem to care. After walking to the window and quietly sliding it open, she carefully climbed out of her room, taking care not to break her legs in the process. She sighed deeply as she gazed at the window of her room, attempting to reason with Summer, but no matter how hard she tried, she knew she needed some answers. After giving her room window one last look, she walked to the road, trying not to be seen by Summer, and attempted to hail a cab, but was unsuccessful."Damn!" She swore, trying to remember what time it was because it was already dark outside. She groaned deeply, knowing she couldn't afford to wait till tomorrow for her answers, and she made the decision to walk down to his house.≈Summer headed into Lisa's room an hour later, hoping to find her asleep, but when she found it vacant and saw her window wide open, she sighed loudl
Ten years agoRicardo Kincaid was awakened by the sound of the police siren blaring in his head. He unconsciously tried to use his hand to find a pillow to cover his ears from the unpleasant noises, but his hand felt heavy, and as a result, he gave up trying. All of a sudden, he heard a man speaking through a megaphone, but he couldn't make out what the man was saying at the time. He tried to open his eyes and stand up, but he was unable to do so. It appeared as though his body had a will of its own.The man kept talking and talking, and after a minute, the man stopped talking, and Ricardo could hear the sound of someone trying to break down his door.He thought to himself, "Ellen," and tried to getup, but he couldn't. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't get up.He tried to say "Ellen," but he couldn't get his mouth to open. His brows unwittingly knotted together in frustration because he wanted to protect his fiancée and their
Ricardo was still having trouble believing what was happening to him. He was responsible for the deaths of his fiancee and their unborn child. What was he thinking when he did it?His heartbeat was pounding so loudly that he was certain the police officers who were sitting by his sides could hear it.Ricardo was sweating profusely despite the fact that it was a really chilly night outside. When he observed that the cars had come to a complete halt, he looked around to see what was going on. Before he could open his mouth and ask one of the police officers who were standing by his side what was going on, both of them opened their doors and stepped out and one of themhauled himout of the car.Ricardo took a quick glance of his surroundings and realized how serious the situation was. They were in front of the police station, and more than twenty officers were keeping a close eye on him. He was being treated as if he was a dangerous animal that could atta
The door to his cell was opened around ten hours later, and he was escorted out of his cell and into the parloir, where his father and step mother were waiting for him. When he saw his father, he shouted out, "Dad," and dashed over to where they were sitting. He sat across from them, tears streaming down his cheeks uncontrollably from his eyes."Is it true?" His stepmother asked, her voice filled with concern. In response, he vigorously shook his head."We have just finished talking to Kim," his father said, his voice breaking with sadness.Kim was the name of the gatekeeper who had been present when the incident occurred."What did he tell you?" Ricardo questioned, his voice full of curiosity."That he heard screaming coming out of your apartment," his father said."Dad, believe me, I didn't do it.""I'm trying to...""Dad..." he cried out. "You know I wouldn't kill Ellen, don't you?'"The police saw the knife in your hand," hi
Becky Kincaid arrived at the car before her husband, who was still talking with one of the police officers, and she took the opportunity to explain to Susan Kincaid, her daughter, what had happened between Ricardo and his father.Susan had wanted to follow them to meet him, but her father, Desmond Kincaid, had advised her to stay behind and let him and his wife handle the situation."Are you serious?" She said angrily."Calm down, Susan," her mother reassured her, "all will be okay.""Please, Mom, stop from telling me to calm down. My brother is in prison, and you're telling me to calm down "She said and moved closer to the car door."And where do you think you're going?" Her mother asked, raising an eyebrow."Inside," she replied. "I'd like to meet him. I'd like to hear his side of the story.""But... your father will not approve of this.""I don't care," she said, getting out of the car. After introducing herself to the officers in char
A few months later, Ricardo was taken before the court in chains around both his hands and legs, and all eyes were immediately drawn to him the instant he stepped foot into the courtroom. He took a quick look around the court to make a mental note of everyone who was present. He noticed Ellen's parents and siblings on one side of the court and immediately turned his gaze away from them to avoid looking at them.He had made up his mind to never see them again after the incident because he had no idea what to say to them, especially Ellen's mother.Ellen's mother had gone to the police station on numerous occasions to speak with him, but Ricardo had politely declined each and every time by failing to appear in person. He looked to the other side of the court and saw his family sitting there. Susan, his father, and his stepmother were all seated together. Susan waved at him with a reassuring grin, and he attempted to reciprocate, but he couldn't, so he turned away f
