73 - Sly wakes up

At the hospital, Monica sat beside Sly with her computer on her lap. She worked and talked through her day with Sly as if he could hear her. She sobbed a few times and continued to work. 

Sometimes, she would bury her head in his stomach and soak it with her tears of regret. Mr Herbert Norman called from time to time, hoping for some good news, but rather recoiling with disappointment. James visited every day and Kyle sometimes. Veronica never showed up at the hospital again but Dickson did so a few times.

Monica had become thin and frail, as a result of not eating regularly. She would drink coffee and snack on an apple or banana. When Elsie brought her food prepared by the new chef, she found herself not having the appetite. Meg had never shown her face to the office again.

Everyone waited both patiently and impatiently for Sly to wake up but were disappointed. Monica went to visit her parents after a few weeks but she couldn't stay for more
