35. The Locket's Glow

Darren:

Soon it was Friday, I reached out for the wristwatch on the table, and that's when the jewelry on my table glowed in a split second before going back to normal, but I noticed it. I picked it up to have a closer look at it.

It was cool against my skin. As I held it up, I noticed the intricate patterns which were on the metal, but there was nothing particularly special about it that I saw, except the name etched into the surface.

No matter how hard I try, I couldn't just shake off the feeling that there was something significant about the locket, something that I couldn't quite put my finger on.

Why would it suddenly glow?

I dipped it into my pocket before I walked out of the bedroom.

"Good morning, sir" Cassius greeted me as I came down the stairs.

"Morning. Any important business in my schedule?"

"Only one, sir"

"Good, let's drop by the black market"
