Chapter 03

After handing over the will, Marian came to the living room.

Most of the Su family was sitting in the living room. As she came in, Ruby immediately accused Marian, \"Hillbilly, I don\'t care what you did while you were away. We\'re not giving that money to you!\"

Alongside her was the youngest son of the Su family, Marian\'s younger brother, Charlie Su.

He was the only son of the Su family, everything was supposed to go to him in the future, but now Marian had taken it away from him.

He looked down on Marian from the beginning, he thought she was an uneducated country girl like his family told him she was. He couldn\'t accept this.

He took his mother\'s hand and complained, \"Mom, you can\'t let her inherit our money. Make her give it up and make her go back to the countryside.\"

She was sent to the temple to receive a divination. The chief abbot of Fahua Temple said, \"This child is a catastrophe, there is nothing but evil in her fate!\" She was sent away to the countryside shortly after that.

Sheryl had no affection for her daughter. She raised her head and looked at Marian harshly, directing her unceremoniously.

\"Marian, did you hear what your brother said? Go find Lawyer Zhang, and give up the inheritance to your father. I\'ll ask him to give you some money as compensation.\"

Marian accepted all this calmly, as if she was just a bystander.

After Sheryl finished speaking, Marian spoke slowly, her voice clear and calm.

\"Sure,\" she then whispered something under her breath. \"Take it, if you can.\"

Her answer was so simple that everyone present was a little shocked.

She didn\'t hesitate, they expected her to fight back, but she was suspiciously agreeable.

Everyone in the room only heard Marian\'s agreement, they couldn\'t hear the second thing she said.

No one could possibly own those assets by themselves, especially not a country girl.

The quickest reaction was the happiest one. Ruby had a brilliant smile on her face and her eyes were full of triumph.

\"Good!\"

In Ruby\'s eyes, Marian was just a countrywoman who had no education and couldn\'t read a book. She couldn\'t possibly own everything, it was better for her to spit it out and take the few scraps that would be given to her.

After speaking, Ruby complained to Sheryl again, \"Mom, what are you waiting for? Make Attorney Zhang prepare a document for her to sign.\"

Before Sheryl could find someone, Christian came in from outside and said loudly, \"No, we will follow my dad\'s last will and testament.\"

As she heard his words, Ruby\'s expression became extremely ugly, and she even shouted at him completely disregarding her image.

\"Dad, why? Do you want this hillbilly to inherit our property?\"

Christian gave a pained expression, he didn\'t want to let Marian inherit it, but he had no choice.

He turned his head to look at Marian who was standing on the side, and he saw that she was still wearing the white T-shirt with a hole on the side. A look of disgust flashed in his eyes. \"Marian, you must be tired from all of this. Go upstairs and rest for now.\"

Marian knew that Christian was deliberately making her leave.

Without hesitation, she raised her foot and walked upstairs.

Marian had a strange smile on her doll-like face as she walked up the stairs. Her bright eyes were full of confidence and disdain for her own family.

When she finally disappeared from their sight, Sheryl took the initiative to ask, \"Christian, she can\'t possibly own all of our property. Why aren\'t you taking it from her?\"

Out of sheer disgust, Sheryl didn\'t even bother to call Marian her daughter anymore.

Christian shook his head and sighed, his expression was helpless.

\"Dad\'s will clearly states that if Marian gives up the inheritance, all our property will go to charity instead. Also Jamess agreed to marry her, she\'s his fiancée now.\"

They couldn\'t afford to offend the Huo family, and his father\'s will was well-written, everything had been planned out. They could only let Marian inherit it temporarily and then find other ways to get it back.

The two bits of heavy news shocked everyone in the room.

She looked at her father in pure horror. \"Dad, are you kidding me? How could Jamess promise to marry that redneck?\"

Christian knew that Ruby had always been interested in Jamess, but this was an indisputable fact, and no one could change it.

\"It\'s his decision, I can\'t do anything about that!\"

As she heard what her father said, Ruby sat on the sofa. Her mind was blank.

She couldn\'t imagine that so many things could happen in a single day.

Her huge fortune was slipping away from her and her favorite belonged to someone else.

All of this was thanks to Marian.

Her hands kept clenching tighter and tighter, and there was a strong hostility and animosity in her eyes. She hated Marian, now more than ever.
