A taste

Vito's POV:

Sometimes I really hated Akira. Somehow she had coerced me into staying at her apartment for three days after we left the mansion together on the day of the meeting. That's why I was a little bit nervous to see Gia when I came back home. It was a very unfamiliar feeling.

It was midday when I returned home. The house was dead quiet as always, and both Gia and Brunella were nowhere to be found.

"Brunella?" I called out as I walked into the kitchen.

She came out running out of the laundry room with a basket in her hands.

"Salve signore, come sta? (Hello sir. How are you?)" She greeted me with a polite smile.

"Bene (good). Where's Gia?" I asked immediately.

"She's out by the pool, signore."

I nodded as I went outside by the back french doors. I circled the pool but she wasn't there. I went back inside and looked for her in her room. She wasn't there either. Suddenly I heard her sweet laughter coming from downstairs so I hurried over. She was in the living room, in front of
