For a moment, they both sipped their coffee.
Vera thought it was a nice strong one. Something she needed, she thought.
After Vera sipped her coffee, she looked up to Luke.
She was waiting to see what he wanted to say.
‘There was something that I wanted to ask you. It’s more a favor.’ Luke began.
He wasn’t sure how Vera was going to react. And therefore, it made him a little nervous to ask.
‘A favor?’ He heard Vera. The look in her eyes were unsure. ‘I don’t know you well enough for favors.’
He knew it wasn’t going to be easy. But he wasn’t done trying.
‘Vera, you know that I am not out to hurt you.’ Luke began, keeping his voice gentle.
This kept Vera quiet so Luke continued.
‘It’s more for my children.’
‘What about your children?’ she asked.
Vera couldn’t resist asking about the children. They warmed her heart and made something inside her to feel happy.
Vera couldn’t remember th
The rest of the day, Verastayed by her desk. She had thought that, it had been a good day. Not too stressful. Just what she wanted. And when she came back to her desk after having a lunch break, she found a set of keys waiting on her desk. She was glad to have a car. That she didn’t have catch the bus and havemultiple stinky people pressed up against her.
Josh drove through the coffee shop and ordered the desired orders of his boss and Miss Rayne. He also ordered himself one too.And then he drove to the bookstore. This made Josh smile at the thought of his boss and Miss Rayne in the bookstore, hanging around each other. He thought it would be a cute date. However, when Josh had parked the car, he was surprised to see that his friend wasn’t going to accompany Miss Rayne. He watched as she hopped out of the car and walked towards the bookstores building. And then he turned to his friend.‘I’m surprised that you didn’t go after her, Luke.’ Josh had said with a slight grin.‘Why?’ Luke said back.He was trying to play dumb with his friend. And Josh knew it.‘I am not stupid, Luke. I have been your friend for too long not to notice a difference in you.’Josh believed that he knew Luke the best.
Vera looked out the car window when she saw they were driving through her boss’s property. The sight before her, was startling. She knew Mr. Reynolds was the richest man alive. But she failed to believe that he would be living in a freaking mansion.Bigger than a mansion.Like multiple mansions put together. This made her a little uncomfortable. Because Vera has never been close to anything like this. This made Vera look back to her lap.Her heart was beating fast.Luke was watching her reaction. He could tell that she was startled at the sight. This made Luke smile. Not because he liked to see her uncomfortable. He had smiled because he could see how innocent she was to all this wealth. He knew that she wasn’t money hungry. But that didn’t stop him from thinking that he would still give her everything he owned. She already owned his heart. She jus
Veratook a breath and calmed down. She knew that she probably didn’thave to go that far.But she was frustrated and when she gets mad,she can’t help exploding. But Luke, he understood. He knew that she wasn’tfromhis worldof wealth.
When Luke stepped into his office, he found Josh waiting on the lounge sipping his coffee.Though when Josh saw Luke step in, he stood up out of respect.‘Please sit down, my friend.’ Luke said. His voice cheery.Josh sat down with a smile on his face.He liked this, Luke.He liked the easy-going Luke.‘Should we plan this fake date?’ Josh asked, sipping his coffee.‘I think we should leave it for just my floor. I want you to find out if Vera has a charity and donate the whole proceeding to it.’‘of course,’ Josh says.‘It also can not be too early. Maybe three weeks away,’ Luke said. Now he was mostly just thinking out loud.He knew it couldn’t be this week or even next week.He knew the trust had to build up a little more.He could feel that she was starting to.And that just made him happy. It truly did.
With no time, Vera found herself in the front seat of Mr. Reynolds SUV.Josh had thought he was dropping Vera home. But Luke wanted tohave some free timewithVera.Vera noted that Luke was quiet. She wondered was he mad.
When Vera stepped into her room, all she wanted to do was go to bed.But she had to have a shower. She needed to get clean before she went to sleep. She was hoping that it would relax her too.Vera didn’t have a very long shower.Just enough time to wash all the important bits. And then once Vera was dressed, she grabbed the book she bought today and then climbed into bed.She probed herself up on two pillow's and with the blankets snuggled around her, she began to read the book.Baby Sitter. She read.Chapter One...It's been eight months since I've hired Florence. All I could say is that I haven't had a problem with her. Actually, I have noticed a difference in my daughter. She was happier, I could tell. So, I didn't regret hiring Florence. Not at all.It was late, when I was leaving the hotel. It was at my usual time. Ten o'clock and I usua
Luke left the hotel by five this morning. He wanted to see his children before they went off to play group. He wanted to have breakfast with his children and tell them how much he loved them. The time he reached home it was close to six o’clock. His children would still be asleep and not due to wake for at least forty five minutes.Luke used that time to enjoy a shower. He needed it to relax his tight shoulders.Once he was out of the shower and had dressed in his work suit he made his way downstairs. And in the Dinning room he saw his children sitting at the table waiting to have their breakfast served.Luke joined them.‘Good morning my Angels.’ He says with a warm fatherly smile.‘Morning daddy,’ the twins spoke at the same time. This made Luke smile wider.By now, Luke had been served his black coffee. The children had been served their oats and a piece
