Alan twirled around on his chair, laughing and cancelling things out from the script in his hand.
His eyes scanned through a line and he twirled back to face his desk, picking up the land phone he dialled a number and on the third ring the person picked up "Miss Malia, speaking sir"
"Ah Malia, Your team wrote the script for the new fantasy series, right?" He asked, still reading through the script
"Yes sir" Malia confirmed.
"That's sad cause I expected better, lots of plot holes and.." He paused and took a deep breath "just come and take it Malia, I made some corrections and added some ideas. Fix it up" he finished and dropped the script.
A few minutes later, someone knocked and as he was about to say come in the person walked in. He raised his eyebrow and a smile appeared on his face.
A dark-skinned man in his late twenties walked in, dressed in a black joggers and black hoodies with a black cap; that's covering half of his face, leaving only his plump lips and nose visible.
"Hey Mark, thought you were dead," he said to the young man who just walked in.
Mark rolled his eyes and sat down, he pulled off his cap and dropped it on the desk and ruffled his curly hair.
"Hey! Take it easy, I ain't one of your fans! Don't go all model on me" Alan whined as he watched Mark ruffle his hair.
"Do you ever shut up?" Mark asked, pulling his lips into a thin.
Alan chuckled and placed his elbows on the table and leaned forward "How was it?" he asked, referring to the movie Mark is working on.
"Stressful! When are you going to replace that clingy ass actress? She's going to make me rip out my hair or kill her" he complained, his face turning into a grimace as he recalled the horrible moments he had acting with the girl.
Alan burst into laughter at the look on his friend's face, while Mark just glared at him "I'm sorry, just bear with her. I can't switch her in the middle of the show, but you have to admit she's a good actress and a good girl if you know what I mean" he said, wiggling his eyebrows mischievously.
Mark immediately made a disgusted face; looking like he was a second away from puking "Good actress, maybe, but a good girl? I don't even want to know. Can't believe you banged her! You're disgusting, man" he said, making Alan burst into laughter again.
He didn't sleep with the girl, she makes his skin crawl as well but he doesn't show it as Mark does, and it's fun to see him make those funny faces.
They continued making small talks about the movie and other things when a light knock came and Alan muttered "come in" and a tall curvy brunette walked in.
Mark's eyes immediately zeroed on her and he gulped nervously as he took in her appearance, the jeans she was wearing hugged her hips tightly and did justice to her lower body but her T-shirt was a bit oversized, covering her upper body properly.
He forcefully dragged his eyes away from her body to look up to her face, her face was highlighted with small makeup and her hair was packed up in a high ponytail, making her face stand out.
Alan noticed his friend looking at her like a lost puppy and smiled slyly "Here Malia, you will see the corrections and notes I made. I'll need the better version by tomorrow"
She picked up the script and went through it briefly; nodding her head as she did "noted, I'll get to it immediately" she said with a small smile, Alan nodded and dismissed her.
When she left, he raised one of his eyebrows at Mark who started playing dumb
"What?" He asked, frowning.
"Oh common! I saw the way you were looking at her" he said with a scoff.
"I wasn't looking at her" he denied immediately.
"The ponytail looked good on her," he said, a sly smile on his face.
Mark immediately sat up straight and nodded "it definitely did, made her face stand out and her makeup was on point, I wonder what she will look like with.." He paused when he saw Alan nearly dying from keeping his laugh in "you can laugh"
And with that, Alan burst into laughter "I thought you weren't looking at her, huh?" He teased, making Mark glare at him.
"How is it going with the Andrew West case? He asked, changing the topic.
The smile on Alan's face vanished immediately and he sighed "I don't know man, I visited his sister yesterday and I'm expecting a feedback by the end of the week" he said, rubbing his forehead.
"What if she refuses to pay?" He asked, worried lines creasing his forehead. He knows how much that money means to his friend and the company.
"Then I'll charge her legally, it's a signed contract"
"You don't exactly have enough legal backings, she didn't sign the contract. Everything is based on her brother's signature and words, the court might not rule in your favour" He stated and Alan sank into his chair.
What Mark said is true and he knows it, he can't believe he made such a silly mistake.
"Let's just hope it doesn't get to that." He said and Mark nodded his head, both of them falling into a tense silent atmosphere.
And while Alan's mind was focused on what the outcome of the meeting with Amanda would be, Mark couldn't get his mind off Malia. He knows he likes her, he always have since he worked with her on his first series; she was so nice and had good knowledge of what she was doing, but he can't bring himself to strike up a conversation with her.
He considered asking for Alan's help, but he is scared he will just tease him about it, so he scrapped that idea but seeing her look so good today just brought back the idea of asking Alan for help.
They both were still lost in their thoughts when a phone ringing brought them back to reality, Alan quickly brought out his phone when he noticed it was the one ringing. He stared at it for a while when he noticed it was an unknown caller ID before he picked it up "Hello?"
"Good day, am I speaking with Mr Alan Weasly?" A feminine voice replied.
"Yes, who are you?" He asked, shaking his head at a curious-looking Mark.
"This is Miss Amanda West," Amanda said, and his eyes widened a bit in surprise before he leaned back on his chair with a smirk.
"Ah, Miss West, you called" he stated, "does that mean you have your brother or my money ready?"
"I called to make an appointment with you tomorrow by 1 pm. Please come with your lawyer, I will like us to discuss the legal proceedings of this case." She informed and the smirk on his face faded and got replaced with a frown and a look of disbelief.
"You want to take legal actions?" He asked, disbelief lacing his voice.
"Yes, that's just what I said." She stated and he cleared his throat.
"I'll be there"
"See you tomorrow," she said and ended the call, while Alan just stared at his phone in shock.
"What happened?" Mark asked, needing to feed his growing curiosity.
"She has decided to take legal actions," he said in a low tone and Mark went quiet.
"What are you going to do?"
Alan released a deep breath and rubbed his forehead in annoyance, "what else?" He asked rhetorically, and stood up. He quickly packed up his stuff, his forehead was greased with worried lines as the possibilities of the case ran through his mind "I'm going home, I'll meet up with my lawyer on my way and discuss this case with her"
Mark nodded in understanding and stood up "alright man, Good luck" he said and walked out.
Alan finished packing up and left his office, he quickly sent his lawyer a text before dialling his driver's number.
Alan stepped out of his car and took deep breaths as he stood before the large law firm his lawyer owns. "Sir, should I wait for you?" His driver asked, with his head poked out the window a little. He turned towards him and nodded "yes please, it'll be a quick meeting" the old beared chauffer nodded before putting his head back into the car, and driving off to the garage. Alan turned on his heels and entered the firm, he exchanged quick pleasantries with the lawyers that were seated in their office cube as he walked to his lawyer's office, and when he got to her office, he knocked and without waiting for permission to enter, he strode into the office. A Latino woman dressed in a black suit sat there, with her hair stopping a little below her shoulders, her eyes covered by glasses as she went through the files in her hand "do you ever wait for permission before barging in?" She asked, slowly raising her face to look at Alan who just rolled his eyes in
"Hey!" She called out from the car, making Jonathan halt and turn towards her "have a good day!" She said, and a grin appeared on the boy's face. "Thank you! Have a nice day too!" He said and ran off. Amanda sat there looking at his retreating figure till she was sure he was inside the school before she sighed and started her car again. Dropping him off is like meditation for her, it makes her feel more relaxed and clear-headed, Knowing he is safe while she's working, but today it's just not working. She just couldn't seem to shake off the fact that she is about to charge Alan Weasley to court. Shaking her head, she discarded the thoughts and started driving out of the garage when she caught sight of something, or rather someone. She immediately stopped and her mouth dropped open, her eyes widened in shock and fear as she stared at the person through the side mirror, and her hands tightened on the steering wheel. "It can't be" she mutt
"Good morning" Amanda greeted, sitting on her usual seat at the conference room with Alan seated beside her. A chorus of good morning's immediately erupted from the audience, wondering why their boss called for them so early in the morning and most importantly, why Alan Weasley is seated beside her. Amanda looked at the faces of her workers and sighed at the curiosity plastered on them "I know you all are wondering why I called you here, so without wasting much of your time I'll get to the point" she started, and everyone immediately straightened their back, their ears twitching for the information "Mr. Alan Weasley will be joining our company as the new shareholder" she stated, and the room became silent. Alan looked around the room, amusement laced his eyes as he watched the way they took the news. Each person was glancing at the other with shock, speaking to each other with their eyes. He managed to drag his gaze away from them and turned towards Amanda, w
The phone ringing loudly on the table beside the bed woke Alan from his slumber, he slowly opened his eyes as the phone kept ringing. He grunted as he stretched out his hand to pick up the phone, but it stopped ringing the moment he took the phone and he grumbled. He was about to toss the phone aside when it started ringing again, he looked at the caller ID and it was Mark and he immediately picked up the call "you better be dying" he said the moment he picked up the phone."I'm not, but I will be if you don't help" he rushed out, sounding out of breath "I asked Malia out and I don't know what I'm supposed to do"Alan sighed in frustration and sat up on the bed "give me one reason why I shouldn't kill you right now" he grumbled on the phone and the line went quiet "you have only 10 seconds to speak""You shouldn't kill me because I finally grew the balls to ask Malia out on a da
He strode into the set making everyone turn their attention towards him, he gave them a smile and a small nod as he walked over to where the director was sitting "Hey Gerald, how is it going?"The young man that was sitting and looking at the scene that was just acted out through the screen, yelped, startled by the sudden intrusion. He turned and when he saw the person behind it, his face morphed into a scowl "that wasn't funny Alan" he said, and turned back to the screen he was looking at previously.Alan chuckled and bent down to look at the screen "it was funny Gerald, you are just a bitter old man" he taunted, not moving his face from the screen "what is this?" He asked, after watching the scene. A look of disgust plastered on his face."It is the ad for the deal we recently got" he stated while looking at the screen, his eyebrows furrowed as he stared at it "Something is wrong with it, but I just can't seem to place m
Two weeks later The entire company was bubbling with people that morning, everyone was running around trying to put everything together for the exhibition that is less than 42 hours away. Amanda walked into the company, put together as always but unlike every other day her hair wasn't left to flow freely on her shoulders but instead was put in a bun, and the usual smile on her face was replaced with a frown. Her stress level went up since the exhibition drew closer and closer, she was paranoid feeling like something or worse still everything will go wrong. She got to her office and sat down, taking deep breaths to calm herself down "get it together lady, this isn't your first exhibition neither will it be your last so get it together" she pep talked to herself, forcing herself to smile to get rid of the negativity in her head. When she finally got it together, she picked up the landlin
"You know for someone that seems so calm and collected, you do freak out a lot!?" Alan said, walking behind a stressed-out Amanda who is biting her tongue to not snap at him. "I mean a whole lot! Like, I look at you and I'm like how does she manage to hide it so well?" He asked again, but when he saw it wasn't getting any effect he paused. "Oh common! Bring back my angry best friend!" He whined, pouting like a child. She paused on the table she was supervising to make sure everything is alright, turning towards him she gave him a very deadly glare which made his pout turn into a childish grin "in case you haven't noticed Mr. Weasley, I'm busy, and I'll appreciate it if you give me some space before I smack you" she warned; speaking with clenched teeth. He just widened his grin and nodded, which just frustrated Amanda even more. She rolled her eyes and went back to supervising the hall, and was utterly grateful when she
Amanda was in the middle of interrogating the two boys in front of her about their newly found friendship when Oliver popped out of nowhere and muttered short greetings to Alan and Amanda before he turned to Jonathan with a small smile. "Hey there little man" He greeted Jonathan bending to his level. "Hey, Oliver, nice to meet you" Jonathan greeted in a polite voice, a small smile on his face. He smiled at him before standing to his full height, he moved closer to Amanda and whispered something in her ear. "Alright, give me a minute," she said as soon as he was done talking, he nodded and walked off "now for the two of you" she started, turning towards them," you are going to stay with each other till I'm done with the exhibition, I still have questions for you two" They both exchanged quick glances, before turning towards her and nodding together "Good, now I'm off for the exhibition! Don't wander off" she stated and then walked away. The two of them
