I stared down at the body sprawled across the office floor and felt nothing except mild irritation at the mess we would need to clean up before dawn. The gun was still warm in my hand and I set it carefully on my desk before turning to look at Luca, who stood frozen near the doorway with his face pale and his hands shaking.

"Clean this mess up," I ordered as I pulled out my phone to check the time. "I need to be home before Chloe wakes up."
