Samael’s POV

“… and then you close the lid of the pot and let it cook for a few minutes,” I explained as I put the lid on the pot to let the chicken stew cook.

“Wow” Caroline muttered while looking impressed.

“Yeah, have I proved myself that I can cook?” I asked, still thinking about how we had a conversation in the car, on our way back to her home.

“Should we take out something for dinner?” Caroline eyed outside the window looking at the restaurants.

“We ate at McDonald’s before so I think we should cook something instead,” I suggested.

“Oh, but I don’t want to,” Caroline said her thoughts out loud with a frown on her face. She looked not interested but then I thought maybe the reason was something else.

“Why, you can’t cook?” I asked teasingly and she looked at me with narrowed eyes probably sensing the teasing through my voice and the smile.

“Yes, I can. I have been cooking for myself past few years, I just don’t feel like cooking.” She said with a huff making me bit back my sm
