As Angelina made her way back to the pack house, she couldn’t help but mull on the words he had just said. When he declared he would do anything and everything to make her happy, he gave the impression of being entirely sincere. Even though he swore to her that he would give her the entire world, here they are with him wanting to give her even more.

She is unsure of whether or not she desires additional children, at least not at this time. Maybe one day, but definitely not tonight. Because the most recent person who offered her everything lied to her and betrayed her, which brought her to this point in her quest for vengeance, she is unsure of whether or not she is prepared to let go of it now.

The reverberation of the sound of heels striking the wooden floorboards could be heard throughout the corridors. Because there was a hush in the room, every sound seemed to be magnified, and she had the sensation that she couldn’t breathe properly.
