Chapter Thirty-Two
Max’s POV
Silence hung between us, Charlie and Harrison that was the last thing I was expecting. In training he was always messing around and talking about a girl from another town, no one believed him as we never saw her but it made sense why he was always leaving the village randomly.
I was still raging, he had continued to let her live in appalling conditions even though he pretended he didn't know, it would have been impossible for him to have missed the markings on her body. What was worse is that he had somehow convinced her to lose her virginity to him. There were questions I wanted to ask but every time I glanced over she was staring out her window.
“Why are you royalty?” her question came from nowhere but at least she was talking to me
“It is a ruse, it is how we have lived so peacefully for so long and kept our kind hidden from the humans”
Her head moves up and down slowly, “But why royalty?”

Alexander’s POV I never thought I would have to be burying my father already, it was hard watching him be lowered into the ground, harder listening to my mother cry. Max’s POV I knew it was not going to end well, Alexander was fuming and I was in a little bit of shock, my mother wants Alexander to stop trying so Charlie will choose me, what my mother does not seem to understand is that I have been doing research on Charlie’s Alpha-Luna heritage and no matter what as soon as she turned eighteen she inherited the role as leader of the pack, regardless of whether her Alpha father was still alive. Alexanders POVI walk out, I can’t listen to this anymore. I plan on finding Charlie, she promised me thirty minutes at her party and I wanted to check that she was upholding her end of the deal.
