Chapter 6

Chapter 6.

My head hurt badly as I cracked open my eyes, the lights above me were too bright. The bed beneath me was soft and velvety and although my entire body hurt, the sleep was very satisfying.

I looked around and saw myself in a room, everything was white, the bed, the walls and even the door, except for a golden chandelier that hung from the ceiling.

I couldn't remember coming here and my mind was foggy. I brought my hand up to my head and massaged my temples, feeling the ache come back slowly.

Then the memories started flooding in. The meeting. The woods. The guards. The knife. The wolves that found me.

Panic rose within me as I remembered the situation that I was in. I don't know who they were or what they had done to me and why I wasn't dead yet. The stab was supposed to have killed me. My hand moved to the stab wound and felt a bandage wrapped around it.

I couldn't stay here. I didn't know what they wanted. They might be other packless wolves who were looking to sell me for a place in the rogue pack. Or they may be more dangerous. I looked around the room. This didn't look like the room of a rogue wolf without a pack. But I could take  any chances.

I groaned as I pushed the heavy duvets off my body and stepped onto the cold floor. My clothes had been changed into a small blue silky nightgown. A material that was very expensive and hard to get.

I wonder who those men are. I couldn't risk it. There was a chance that they were good people who had helped me, but if that wasn't the case, then my life was in danger. I looked around the room and saw a large window to my left.

I rushed to the window and looked down below. It was a very long jump, and I wasn't strong enough to shift to my wolf at this moment. She had been quiet and I was beginning to get worried.

Before I could think of a plan to escape, the door flew open and a lady walked in carrying a towel. As soon as she saw me, her face morphed into an expression of shock and her hand flew to her mouth, ďroppimg the towel.

"You're awake!" She said in shock.

"Who are you?" I said, my voice quivering as I took a step back.

"Please sit, you can't be walking around so soon. You need rest" she said, carefully walking towards me.

"No, tell me where I am" I said, walking backwards till my back hit the window sill.

"I'll tell you but I need you to sit back on the bed" she said carefully

I looked at her up and down. She looked strong and If I tried to run, she could overpower me.

I would have to comply with her and find another way to escape later.

I walked cautiously to the bed and sat down again. She came beside me and picked up the phone on the bedside table and held it up to her ear.

"Tell them she's awake, " she said.

I wanted to ask her who she spoke to, and who needed to know that I was awake. But I knew she wouldn't answer me.

"How long have I been here?" I asked Instead.

"You've been here for three weeks," she answered politely.

Three weeks??

"Have I been asleep for that long too?"

"Yes, but you were drifting in and out of consciousness," she informed me.

"Where am I?" I asked her.

She looked at me but didn't answer.

"I'm sorry, I Shouldn't be talking to you" she said and handed me a glass of water.

Just then, the door burst open to reveal a man. He looked like a doctor.

"Do they know she's awake?" He asked the girl.

"Yes, they have been informed"

"Good," He said.

What did they want with me?

Who are their leaders?

Was I safe?

These questions ran through my head as I sat on the bed. Neither of them were looking at me or offering me any answers.

Just then a lady came into the room.

"Master asked me to prepare her for dinner with them," she said.

She came to my side and helped me stand up, before leading me to the bathroom.

She filled the bath for me and helped me in.

"Where is this place?" I said, hoping she would answer me.

She looked at me and looked away.

"I'm sorry, but I shouldn't be talking with you." She said

I wonder why they aren't talking to me. She sounded scared as if she could be punished just for talking to me.

I stepped into the bathtub and sighed. I couldn't remember the last time I had a warm bath. The servants at the rogue pack had to wake up early in the morning and bathe with ice cold water so that they could also go and help me master's prepare for the day.

I didn't know what they planned to do to me in this place but I could at least enjoy this even if I was going to be killed or sold back to the rogue pack.

After a while, I stepped out, and she was waiting for me with a towel. These were the things I did for the mates of the rogue master's in the pack. They were always wicked and determined to make life hell for the servants.

She led me to the vanity and helped me comb my hair and style it beautifully. I wanted to ask what was happening but I knew I wasn't going to get an answer.

Maybe they mistook me for someone else or they thought I was royalty when they found me.

Then she brought out a long blue gown, and helped me put it on. It was also made of the same expensive material.

Then she led me back to the room.

The other lady and the doctor had left.

"We have to meet them soon," she said quietly.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"Dinner" she answered.

"With who?"

"The Alpha’s" she answered.
