Christopher and I were walking hand in hand in the middle of the night. It was the only time we could be together without anyone finding out. Our relationship had to stay a secret, since he was the Crown Prince and the future Alpha, and I was just an Omega, and his royal family would never accept someone like me for their son.
Our fingers were tightly wrapped together, and our steps were quiet along the dimly lit road.
“I missed you,” Christopher said softly, and I smiled, my heart fluttering.
“I think I missed you more, Chris,” I whispered back.
He chuckled and gently played with my fingers as we walked.
After a while, he let out a deep sigh. “I can’t believe I’m turning twenty in barely an hour.”
“I know, right?” I replied with a dreamy smile. “We’ve grown up so much together, year after year. I can’t wait to celebrate with you.”
He hesitated. “I’m not sure I want a birthday party.”
I blinked in surprise and lightly smacked his arm. “What do you mean you’re not sure? You already sent invitations to high-ranking officials.”
“I know, but…”
“No buts, Chris,” I said firmly. “You’re going to be the Alpha of Silverclaw soon. You need to get used to this kind of thing.”
He scrunched his nose. “Nah, I’d rather stay in my manor, with my pretty woman.”
That made me grin like an idiot. I loved it when he called me that…his pretty woman. It made me feel like I belonged somewhere, like I belonged to him.
“Still,” I said, trying to stay serious even though my heart was doing flips.
“Can we not talk about it?” he whispered, gently pulling me closer. “Right now, I just want to hold you, and kiss those lips of yours.”
I giggled and pretended to scold him. “Have some manners, hmm?” I teased, wrapping my arms around his neck.
“With you? Never,” he said with a grin, then leaned in and kissed me.

The next morning, all I could think about was Christopher’s birthday. We had spent some time together earlier, then I returned home to rest before the party would start in the afternoon.
No one else knew, but I was the one working behind the scenes to make everything perfect. I came up with the theme, the decorations, the menu and every little detail. Christopher had simply presented the plans to his parents like the ideas were his. They loved everything, not realizing I was the one who made it all happen.
As the party hour got closer, I started getting ready. I slipped into a red silk gown that hugged my body in all the right places and clipped a rose gold necklace around my neck. Omega or not, I knew how to dress. Fashion was something I would never compromise on.
“Mum, can you drop me off at Prince Chris’s birthday party?” I asked as she was gathering her things to go out with her friends.
“Were you invited?” she asked sharply, giving me that look…the one that warned me not to embarrass the family.
“Yes! Look,” I said, waving the invitation proudly in front of her face.
She finally agreed and dropped me off outside Christopher’s grand home before driving away.
I had no plans to go through the main entrance. Instead, I headed toward one of the side doors, like I always did. I wanted to sneak into his room first, check how he looked, and help calm him down if he was feeling nervous about the crowd.
But when I got to his room, he wasn’t there.
I stepped back into the hallway, confused, and just then, a house staff walked by. I quickly acted like a lost guest and asked, “Excuse me, where is Prince Chris?”
“He’s already at the banquet,” she replied without much interest.
That threw me off. I asked her for the time, thinking maybe I was late, because Christopher usually waited for me. He knew I liked to sneak in to see him before everything started. Without wasting another second, I rushed toward the banquet hall.
The place was already filled with guests, all dressed in stunning gowns and expensive suits. For a moment, I just stood there, taking it all in. The decorations looked exactly how I imagined when I first shared my ideas with Christopher. It was beautiful. Perfect.
Then my eyes began searching the room for him.
I saw him across the hall, surrounded by guests offering birthday wishes. I started walking toward him, not really thinking, just drawn to him. But just before I reached him, I saw a woman in a black dress, about my age, stepping up to him with a glowing smile. She looked too comfortable, like she knew him well, like they had a past. She moved close to him, as if they were lovers.
Then he stood up, pulled her into a tight hug, and smiled at her in a way that made my stomach twist both in jealousy and pain.
The hug might have been okay, something I could have ignored if I tried, but then he gently lifted her chin and kissed her. It wasn’t a quick or friendly kiss. It was slow, deep, and full of passion, like they were the only people in the room. The crowd clapped and gasped, clearly surprised, but no one was more shocked than me.
I stood frozen in my spot, unable to move. My face felt stiff, and my chest burned, but not just from anger, but from heartbreak. My heart felt like it was breaking, piece by piece, as they kept kissing. It probably lasted only a minute, but to me, it felt like forever. That one moment was enough to leave a scar I knew would never fade.
“Chris!” I called out, my voice shaking as I tried to pull myself together but it was not working.
They pulled apart and turned to look at me. I walked toward them slowly. Each step felt heavier than the last, and my heart kept pounding hard in my chest. I stared at him, waiting for an explanation. I wanted him to say it was all a mistake or that he didn’t mean it.
But instead, he looked at me with a blank stare which showed no guilt, then he raised an eyebrow and said, “What?”
My heart sank.
“Christopher!” I called again, louder this time. I kept hoping he was playing a prank, that he would laugh and tell me it was all a joke. “What do you mean by ‘what’? It’s me, Isabella, the love of your life.”
He looked right at me, and all I could see in the eyes he once used to look at me with love and affection were now burning in disgust and hate, without a hint of care in them.
“Let’s stop pretending. You can't seriously believe I’d marry you, did you, Isabella?” Christopher said in a sharp cold tone. “You’re not that delusional, are you?”
His words hit me like a slap, while my mind was spinning.
“W-What? What do you mean?” I asked in a shaky voice. “We’ve been together for so long, and just last night you told me I was your woman. You said I was the one. And now… now I’m standing here, having to explain myself to you? Chris, are you serious right now?”
He looked at me in disgust. “Believe it or not, no one, especially me, would ever marry someone weak and low-ranked like you. You’re just an Omega, Isabella,” he said, brushing me off without a second thought.
The cameras around us kept flashing, capturing everything. I could feel the eyes of the crowd burning into me, and the shame crawling up my skin. We had kept our relationship a secret, but I never imagined he’d treat me like this in front of everyone.
“Did you really think an Omega like you could ever be my Luna?” he added with a cruel smirk.
The crowd laughed, and my heart shattered the more at his stabbing words, each one sharper than the last. I could barely breathe, it felt like I was choking.
“What is going on here?” a sharp voice cut through the noise. Tuning my head to the voice, it was the old Luna, Christopher's mother, who suddenly directed her eyes at me. Scanning me up and down like I was some filthy, disgusting thing.
“If this girl is causing a scene, get rid of her now,” she snapped with a hiss.
Before I could even react, Christopher gave a look, and two large guards appeared and grabbed me roughly by the arms, and began dragging me away.
I didn’t fight. I couldn’t, because I was just too numb, and too broken to even struggle with them, after the man I loved had just thrown me away like I never mattered.
Lucian's PovNo matter how a man tries to be ignorant, he can only be naive for a while, definitely not forever.Every step she took, every sway of her hips pulled me in. I couldn’t take my eyes off her ass and mentally cursed myself for not copping a feel when she fell on my legs. Fuck, I should have held her up by her ass and not her freaking shoulders. She wasn’t talking to me, or looking at me, pathetic. When she was the one who suggested we made peace just to attend this party. And speaking of parties, this was one horrible boring party, strike that, it was an event. A boring event.I grabbed a glass of champagne from one of the butlers going around and a thought entered my mind. I should have taken this estate from Luke, he didn’t deserve anything but then again I could be merciful when I wanted to be. Especially to some certain someone.“When I heard our one and only Alpha was downstairs I argued. I said it wasn’t possible because you had just left us and to be back so soon why
Lucian's povI realized that I was doing too much. I shouldn't have followed her, I should have just ignored her and I realized that late so I walked away. I walked away before I did or said what I wasn't meant to say.I wanted nothing more than to pin her to the wall and pound her moist flesh. I grabbed my cock even harder as I increased my pace.My dick had refused to relax and understand that it was not going anywhere near Isabella, so I had to help it calm down, only that the thoughts I was having were of Isabella still. I was imagining what could have been, right there in that hallway. Her skirt up and folded around her waist, her legs wrapped around me as I teased her opening with my dick. My dick fully sheathed inside of her as I grabbed her throat and kissed her. Fuck I was thinking about kissing her when I didn't even do that, I never kiss."Fuck!" I groaned loudly as my cum coated my hand and thighs. Shit. Sighing I grabbed my shirt and wiped my cum off. Yeah I didn't wait
Isabella povFuck! Fuck! Fuck!He remembers, I mean he wasn't the drunk one so of course he would remember, shit.I had no idea what I had done until I woke up the next morning, my phone in one hand and the other inside my shorts. I didn't think much of it until I saw three missed calls from Lucian. I shouldn't have checked my call logs because it was then that it hit me hard. When I saw I had been on a ten minutes call with him, I began to panic because I couldn't remember and just when I was about to give up it struck me, I began to put two and two together and funny thing was I didn't know the severity of what I had done until dinner. My fucking brain decided to tell me what I did, I wished I had killed myself that night because all I did was pray for death.I stayed holed up praying. He doesn't remember, but the way he looked at me made me realize how useless it was of me to pray.I could hear his footsteps following me from behind and I knew I shouldn't but I prayed again that
44. Lucian.I had something important to pick up, that's the only reason I went home. I lied to myself as I watched the road through the window of my car. It's been a week since the night that ruined everything. It's the night I can't stop thinking about, the same one I hate so much. The sounds of her moans, of her calling my name and asking why I don't touch her, the way her words slurred as she spoke, or how she had my name on the tip of her tongue as she got herself off. She was drunk I know, because Isabella was proud, and as much as I hate to think that she doesn't remember I knew she was running from me.Agar said she had herself holed up inside the house and hasn't left for three days, Normally I wouldn't care, not like I cared either and I wasn't going home to see how she was, I was going for work reasons. It's why I was going with Jeffery."I have never been to this country before" Jeffery said and I frowned."Of course you haven't, I read your employment file so I know where
Isabella He opened my message several minutes ago and still hasn't replied. I groan as I stare at my phone. Right before I sent out that text, I knew Lucian would ignore it, but Agar egged me on, and I did. Now, he was probably laughing at me."Would you relax? He's probably thinking or busy," Agar said, sipping on a glass of orange juice. It had been hours since we ate, but he had been guarding the glass like it was the last juice available."I am relaxed, I don't even care if he responds or not" I said lying through my teeth, I was nowhere relaxed at all."If you say so" he responded downing the rest of the juice like it was alcohol. That reminded me that I needed to get drunk, and probably let someone touch me. Another reason why I needed to get to this party."Ugh" I grunted before throwing my phone across the couch."Your grunts and groans are becoming annoying Isabella, What is it?" My mother's voice came loudly from the kitchen."Nothing" I responded under my breath but it was
Lucian povI haven't been able to get my head out of work since I returned, I just buried myself into work and when there was no work I fucked. I was never into whoring but I've been in a bad mood and all I wanted to do was let out steam."Sir Rachel is here" perfect timing, I guess."Let her in" I said dropping my pen on the table, I folded my arms across my chest and watched Jeffery close my door, and slender fingers opened it shortly. She had a smile on her face as she catwalked towards me. She was prim and proper, not like I'd ever say that to her, but she was unlike someone I knew, unlike someone that I felt like strangling.I squeezed my fingers tightly, the hand that was around her throat, I could still feel the thumping of her pulse underneath my thumb. Sighing I withdrew my mind from Isabella and focused on Rachel."Did you bring the documents?" I asked. She took her seat and crossed her legs, her dress this time was Short so her whole thighs were on display. I dragged my ey
