Rhea’s POVI was half expecting him to either lunge at me or throw me out after what I said.Surprisingly, he did neither. He stared at me detestably and shook his head slowly, like I’m a cockroach he can’t wait to stomp on.“Just like I expected. Once a rogue always a rogue” he said in disappointment. His words slashed through my heart but I ignored the feeling and said menacingly “Then let me leave and find someone else suitable enough for you”“Where do you want to go? Back to your old alpha?” he asked curiously. My heart skipped a beat as I stared at him with dread “He’s still alive?”“Yes, he and his warlock were the only survivors” he said firmly.I felt the blood drain from my face at that unfortunate piece of news. Alpha victor definitely knows that I was the one that betrayed him.As if reading my thoughts, “Yeah, he probably wants your head now. I had my warlock place an anti tracking spell on you to keep you hidden from him, but if you leave this territory, the spell will
Rhea’s POVHe raises his eyebrows at me, like I’m in no position to make demands at all. Which was true but I wasn’t going to point that out.I was almost positive he wouldn’t agree to listen or acknowledge my conditions but he surprises me by saying gently “Let’s hear them first then I will decide if I will allow them or not”I rolled my eyes at him.“Well first and most importantly, I will not have you belittle or insult me. I’m not your slave, I’m your equal. If you want me to try and have respect for you in both my words and my actions, you won’t refer to me as savage or rogue. I have a name and you will address me with it during this dreadful period” I said intensely.A small almost faint smile crosses his lips while his eyes crinkle in amusement before he adjusts his look and says firmly “Okay… Rhea. As long as there is mutual respect between us, there will be no problems regarding that matter”The second he says my name, My stupid heart reacts by fluttering against my chest and
Adrian’s POVMy wolf growled angrily when he saw how unnecessarily deep she made the cut on the palm of her hand, followed by a whimper from him as we both registered a slight degree of her pain in our chest. Since the bond wasn’t fully established without a mark, I could make out a faint part of her emotions. That’s how I could tell that she was angry at me when I kept calling her a rogue, in addition to trapping her in a corner with my deal instead of letting her leave.I have to admit; even if to myself only, as annoying as she is with her attitude, indifference, and disrespect for me, she still sparked a flicker of amusement in me.To a rogue like her who grew up experiencing nothing about the great quality of life that a normal pack has to offer, she wasn’t attracted to it whatsoever. She didn’t care about the title I was offering her, nor about the great improvements that would come with it. There was safety, a place to call home, food, power, title, wealth…. All those things co
Rhea’s POVI sigh contentedly as my eyes sweep over the vast bathroom. It was way more white and clean than anything I’ve ever laid eyes on before and I found that very comforting to me. White floor, white walls, white sink, white tub, and white actual toilet; which was like a grand prize for me. I was so over that dirty disgusting way of living that I had before. Where I had to pee in some ditch, barely clean myself once a week in a shallow river if we even found one in the depth of the different forests we stayed in, sleep on the same thin rug which does nothing to ease the hardness of the forest ground underneath it, wear ratty, old, smelly clothes until they couldn’t be worn anymore or wear a shoes that hurts my feet almost all the time because it was already worn out too much, only get to eat raw meat from the animals my wolf could hunt or chew on the green stuff I find around the forest when I get too nauseous from getting my source of food directly through my wolf. I’m so done
Rhea’s POVA knock on the door breaks my content bubble and my wolf perks up inside me for the first time since I woke up, sensing the mate and yearning for a whiff. All those heavenly things I was experiencing were too human for her to appreciate and feel the same feelings that I was going through.I head for the door and open it.My eyes collide with his and his scent hits me like an electric shock. Waking every cell in my body.My wolf pants inside my head, urging me to take more of it in because she missed it since he left early this morning, but I didn’t indulge her because I was fighting it. No point in getting addicted to his smell when I was leaving soon anyway. He on the other hand, looked….kind of… intoxicated and overcome with something? I wasn’t sure exactly. No one ever looked at me that way and I’ve never seen anyone look at someone in that way before within my pack. It wasn’t lust exactly, it felt more…. Pure or innocent. He was hyperventilating as his chest rose up and
Rhea’s POVI walk next to him through the long hallway silently. The hallway ends with a glamorous living room full of comfortable-looking, huge, dark brown couches, a very big TV hanging from the wall, and beautiful, elegant chandeliers. It also had a whole wall-size view of the territory on one side. There were two doors in this room besides the hallway we just came from.He heads into one of them and opens the door, walking inside while I follow behind him.It was the dining room. Of course it was just as elegant looking as the rest of this place.A long table filled with so much food, my mouth automatically started watering on its own, and the smell! Goddess, the smell almost brought a moan I barely contained from escaping.I forced my eyes to focus on the people that were already sitting around the table.Alec smiled at me warmly when our eyes met. He looked so much better than the last time I saw him. I smiled back but refrained from saying anything because he wasn’t the only on
Adrian’s POVI was holding my hand out for her, waiting patiently. She was afraid of me.It was clear as day in her eyes and in her little flinch earlier. She was trying her best to hide it, to act brave, but her body doesn’t know how to lie as well as her words do.I could see her struggle to decide whether to trust me not to hurt her or not.Slowly, her hand reached for mine. I could almost see her changing her mind at the last second before our skin touched and pulling her hand back just an inch before she pushed herself and placed her palm in mine.Tingles spread out through my whole body instantly. Good kind of tingles. Her skin was soft, delicate in mine. Lennox was ecstatic at the physical contact.I tugged her forward abruptly and turned her around. She fell straight into my lap with a loud, scared gasp from her mouth. Her body tensed up and her eyes went wide as she looked at me in surprise. Our faces were so close to each other. If I move just an inch, our lips could be touc
Rhea’s POVGoddess, why does it feel so good to sit in his lap? To be surrounded by his arms? Why does it give me so much warmth and safety? I don’t even know anything about this man except how much he hates that I turned out to be his mate. He hated me at first sight, yet, he didn’t let me leave the dining room hungry and starving. He didn’t embarrass me in front of the others by pointing out the obvious. He fed me himself. He took care of me without judging me. He even seemed to like my presence in his arms almost as much as I did.He was confusing me a lot. Can that much hatred and disgust change in an instant? Was he hiding them in front of me to honor our deal and the chance we decided to give each other, or were they really gone? The food was mind blowing. I loved every single thing he put in my mouth. I had to resist my moans so hard every time I tasted something new and every new food that turned out to be tastier than the one before it.No one at the table spoke or said anyth
