Lucy POV

I woke up the next morning with a heavy fever. The nights after Adrian left my room had settled into something I refused to name.

I tried to act strong. I tried to convince myself the bruises on my arms and the ache in my body were the only things he left in me. But that was a lie I could not keep even from my own wolf.

My wolf craved him again. She craved that moment, strangely. Those few awkward, forgettable moments that left me empty. I hated how my skin still remembered his domi

Lucy’s POV Sleep refuses to come as usual. No matter how many times I close my eyes, Adrian’s face kept reflecting in my vision. I turn to my side and pull the blanket over my shoulder. I hate him. At least, that is what I keep telling myself. I glance at the clock on the bedside table to see it’s 12.AM. I let out a frustrated breath and throw the blanket aside. There is no point pretending I will sleep tonight. My body is exhausted, but my mind refuses to rest. The room feels suffocating too, and I desperately need some fresh air. I slip my feet into my slippers and quietly open the bedroom door. The hallway is dimly lit. Most of the lights have been switched off, leaving only the small wall lamps glowing along the corridor. I glance toward Eric’s room. His door is closed, and I assume he is still sleeping peacefully. After checking that nobody is around, I begin walking toward the sitting room. I remember seeing a large balcony there earlier, and perhaps I can stand near the

  • My Alpha Stepbrother’s Obsession   Chapter 39

Lucy’s POV The next morning comes too quietly. I wake with the same ache in my chest that follows me into sleep every night, trying to convince myself that everything happening around me is nothing more than a terrible dream. But the villa reminds me where I am. I am still here. The bond between Adrian and me remains faint, almost nonexistent but there. It was as if since I came into this villa this time, my wolf had been doing nothing but wants. She haven’t rested but rather craved his presence. It was as if the more I suppress my scent, the worse it became. And sometimes, I wonder whether my wolf was waiting for something I am too afraid to acknowledge. I push the blanket aside and get out of bed. After washing my face and changing into comfortable clothes, I walk down the hallway toward Eric’s room. He is already awake when I enter. He sits on the edge of the bed wearing the new pajamas Clara left for him. His hair sticks up on one side, and his little feet swing above the

Lucy POV I left before the sun rose. The bag was already packed. I had checked it twice the night before. My hands did not shake when I pulled it from under the bed. I changed into the clothes I had set aside, tied my hair back, and slipped the silver pendant that would dulled my scent while I am away from this place, far away from home. My wolf was quiet. She had been quiet since Adrian left my room the night before. And I could feel the painful pull. My wolf struggled on the inside, trying to feel strong while the bond broke. She did not understand why we were moving. She only knew the bond was still there, thin and confused, pulling toward a man who was somewhere get away z I opened the door and listened. The hallway was empty. I walked the long way past the kitchen, the way I had written down, and found the service path still unlocked. No one stopped me. No one called my name. The night guards were distracted too and off their duty post. I had timed it. The bond pulled but

  • My Alpha Stepbrother’s Obsession   Chapter 37

Lucy POV When we headed back to the villa, Adrian’s hand stayed at the small of my back the whole way, he handed me in a fragile way. He didn’t say much, and neither did I. My legs still felt unsteady as I thought drifted back to the chaos and my cheeks were warm whenever I remembered what had happened with Adrian, the man of my dreams. The bond was warm and satisfied, as if it had finally received something it had been missing for days. But my wolf was already asking for more. She wanted him closer. She wanted his hands on us again. She wanted to feel his lips against ours. She didn’t care that I had a bag packed under the bed and would be leaving soon. All she knew was that our mate had touched us and that wasn’t enough. I tried to push her wants down, but she wasn’t listening. When we reached the side entrance, Adrian slowed his steps. “You’re quiet,” he said. “I’m fine.” He turned to look at me. His eyes moved over my face, studying me as if he could read every thought i

  • My Alpha Stepbrother’s Obsession   Chapter 36

Lucy’s POV The moment I read that message, my heart began to beat fast. Adrian arrived was back. I waited for him in my room, consumed by fear because I didn’t want the servants seeing us, and I certainly didn’t want Kane hearing that Adrian had returned before he expected him to. My hands were cold despite the warmth in the air. Then I saw him. He pushed open the door and walked toward me with tired steps, dust covering his boots and a streak of dried blood marking the sleeve of his jacket. His hair was messy, and exhaustion had settled around his eyes. But the moment he saw me, his expression changed. More like a relief. For a few seconds, I could not moved. I had imagined this moment countless times since our phone call. In some versions, I apologized immediately. In others, I asked him to take me away before anyone could stop us. But when he finally stood in front of me, every word disappeared. He reached for me. I stepped into his arms, and he pulled me against his chest

  • My Alpha Stepbrother’s Obsession   Chapter 35

Lucy’s POV Through out that night, I had barely slept. Every time I closed my eyes, I heard Adrian’s voice from our last conversation, how he had assured me it was ok to be nervous but what he didn’t know was it’s not about being nervous. He had sounded hurt too when I told him I wanted to reject our bond. The words had come out of my mouth, but they had never reflected what I truly wanted. I had been angry, frightened, and desperate to escape the mess surrounding us. My conversation with my mother had only made everything worse. Still, none of that changed what I had said to him. The next day, my phone rang just after sunrise. It’s Adrian calling. I stared at his name on the screen, my thumb hovering over the answer button. Part of me wanted to ignore the call and pretend I had never seen it. Another part wanted to hear his voice so badly that my chest ached. In the end, I answered. “Hello?” “I’ve been trying to reach you but it didn’t connect.” He said. “How are you doing
