View MoreI, Alia, has always been the outcast in the Moonshade family. A shadow trapped in a house i didn't belong, tolerated but never accepted. Born from violence and lived in the shadows.
My Mother had been a maid, who caught the attention of my father Jerry Moonshade, one of the most powerful werewolf bloodlines. She was raped and then left to die after giving birth to me like she was nothing.
A crime my mother never got Justice for, who would dare question Jerry Moonshade?
I knew i meant nothing to my father and i was an act of betrayal to my step mum and stepsisters.
While my half-sisters lived in luxury, draped in silk and fine linen, I was always in the shadows, unwanted and unseen. I never for once experienced what was called the word ‘Love’ neither from my father, stepmother and my half-sisters.
A knock interrupted my thoughts, I stood up from what I couldn't even call a bed and opened the door. “You are being summoned by Lord Moonshade”. She said and without another word she left.
I closed the door, leaning on the doorframe wondering why Father must have summoned me, without thinking much of it, I left my room heading to his study.
I stood Infront of my father's study, i could feel my heart almost ripping out of my chest and suddenly I felt cold. I took in deep breath to calm my nerves and with all my willpower knocked.
“Come in.”
A cold icy voice said.
I opened the door, stepping into the study room. My father sat behind his usual black desk, he looked up from the papers on the table. His piercing golden eyes meeting my mine, I could clearly see the disgust on his face.
I immediately looked away feeling a kind of way I can't explain. I could hear my stepmother scoff and stepsisters Ava and Avia whispering to themselves as if this was a show they were enjoying.
This was not a family meeting i could sense that.
“You summoned me, father.” I said while trying to keep my voice steady and void of any emotions. Years of enduring their abuse had taught me never to show weakness.
“Yes,” Jerry said, leaning back in in chair. “You will be joining us for our autumn vacation this year.”
A cold shiver ran down my spine, it was as if I misheard him.
For years I had always been locked away in the house whenever my father and his family went on family vacation. Still in shock “I'm sorry?” I spoke.
My father let out a low dangerous growl. "You heard me go and get ready.”
I could see my step mum from the corner of my eyes she had turn pale with rage, her fingers turning white around the bottle of wine she held.
“She doesn't need to follow us.” She said giving me an icy glare. “She has never followed us so why must she come now?”
My stepsisters stared at him in shock, words eluding them.
“She comes.” My father said dismissively, finality in his tone.
I could feel the churning in my tummy because for the very first time, I was acknowledged by my father Infront of his family.
I was sure Alpha Jerry was up to something because he always did things for his own personal benefit, but what could this be about? I had no idea

The morning of our departure around 3am i wasn't so sure about what the time was, i heard my door creak before i could move, two hands held me down while one clapped over my mouth. I tried to free myself, but I couldn't. couldn't. I could hear the evil laughter of my step muffled and giggles of my stepsisters, sisters, Ava and Avia.
i was right.
“Don't struggle Alia, you'll only hurt yourself more. Ava said.
What are you doing to me? I tried to say but the sound came out muffled under Avia’s palm.
Pain surged through me as they started tying me up. My heart raced as i realized what was happening.
I tried to scream again but it was to no avail.
“We are only trying to keep you where you belong Alia, you should be happy.” My stepmother spat.
I tried to free myself from the rope, but Ava nails dug into my skin. "Stop fighting,” “You thought we would let you come with us?” she let out scoff. “You are nothing but a useless bitch, you belong in the shadows and that’s where you should stay, asshole.” Avia added.
I felt different emotions, anger, frustration and sadness. what did i do to deserve to be treated this way? I thought to myself. I had spent my entire life being treated like trash, like i didn't deserve any form of happiness.
I knew something was different tonight, i could sense a feeling. Was it fear?
Why were they so afraid of me following them? Why were they so afraid of what my father had planned?
What was so special in Darca that made them so desperate to keep me here?
By the time i had been tied up, i was roughly shoved into my storage closet.
My throat felt dry from screaming.
I was beyond terrified
No one could hear me.
No one ever did.
I tried to free myself, but it caused me more pain.
I heard the door been locked, followed by the sound of their footsteps retreating down the stairs.
I had been left in the shadows for too long, hidden away when guest came visiting.
I blinked the tears at the corner of my eyes away. I can't cry not at this time, i thought. I had learnt crying was only a form of weakness and no matter how hard I cry; my situation wouldn't change.
I tried to shift my fingers, trying to find anything beneath me to cut the ropes but it was futile.
Please i whispered, not again
I closed my eyes engulfing the darkness.
Alia's POVI wake up early, earlier than usual. My body aches from yesterday’s prank. The bruises from their pranks are still fresh in my memory, still there in the form of throbbing pain in my back, my arms, my legsbut it doesn’t get any easier.Every bruise is a reminder of their cruelty; I can feel it deep down in my bones. I don't want to move or get out of bed. but I force myself to.I held the edge of the bed firmly, the fabric digging into my hands. I sit up slowly, the movement sending a sharp pain through my back. My breath catches; I bit back the tears that were threatening to fall. I didn't feel this pain yesterday evening when i had dressed up looking pretty. You won’t see me break.I remember the vow i made to myself last night, and I cling to it like a lifeline.I remember how, after the silence of the dark room pressed down on me, I whispered those words into the emptiness. They were for me only for me. A promise that no matter how much they tried to break me, I would
Alia’s Pov I wasn’t alone. The words echoed in my mind as I tried to turn to face my fears. Some parts of me knew what I would find wouldn't be good, but at this point I didn't care. I still had to look. The corridor behind was dark; the only light that was visible was from the moon. A figure stood in the shadows. Tall. Broad. Motionless. Their silhouette was outlined by the dim light of the palace corridor. I could see enough to recognize him. Aiden His eyes were locked on me, cold and calculating His name struck something deep inside me. Not warmth, not longing. No. It was dread. His red, fiery hair shone brightly in the dark. He looked at me in a way that made me want to throw up. Like I was something he was testing in a lab. Something is broken. And that smug smile. That cruel little smirk. It sliced deeper than anything else could. “Why are you here?” I managed, my voice steadier than I felt, though the tremor underneath betrayed me. He didn’t answer right away. Just wa
Alia’s POV My breath got caught in my throat; I could hardly breathe. My legs felt stuck to the ground, and they refused to move; my eyes were glued to jasmine, completely bare, her skin glowing under the dim lighting. Her naked body straddled Bryan like she belonged there, like this was her throne. Her back arched slightly, and she let out a sound I’ll never unhear. And Bryan… His lips were as glued to hers as if his life depended on it. I saw Bryan grunting and then finally collapsing. He kissed Jasmine's forehead as if he had just finished a race. As if she was the only thing that mattered to him. It was intimate. Intimate in the worst, most jarring way for me. I felt something inside me break. Not because I cared for Bryan, God, no, but because this moment, this secret, felt like something sacred I had intruded on. Something I wasn’t supposed to witness. I couldn’t even begin to describe what I felt: shocked, disgusted, confused, maybe even jealous in the most twisted, i
Alia’s POV A loud bang from downstairs made me jump, yanking me out of sleep. I shot up, my heart pounding against my chest rapidly; it felt like it would crack my ribs. I sat there for some minutes trying to figure out where I was. Sunlight shone brightly through the curtains into the strange room around me, giving the room a golden glow, much to my dislike. I felt so disgustedmy voice was rough and edgy. I groaned loudly, dragging the blanket over my head while trying to go back to sleep, but it didn't work. I wanted to pretend this wasn't real, pretend I was somewhere else. Pretend this wasn’t real. Pretend I was somewhere else. But the light didn’t care. It found every crack, every gap. There was no escape. With a miserable sigh, I pushed the blanket down to my chest and cracked one eye open against the glare. The full weight of the room hit me, and my stomach turned. I hadn't paid it much attention last night; exhaustion had blurred the details. Now, a
Alia’s POVThe tension in the air felt like thick fog as we stepped back into the hall. I didn’t want to look up. I didn’t want to meet their eyes. The judging eyes of the people in the room. The stares of three men who already looked like they’d rather be anywhere else but standing in the same room as me. I didn’t blame them. I didn’t belong here either. But I couldn’t hide forever.Their glares were like daggers, sharp and unrelenting. I could feel the disgust rolling off them like heatwaves, especially Bryan. His aura was the loudest. Like he was seconds away from snapping. His lip curled up as if I smelled.“Alia? “He asked, snorting. His tone cut deep. Cold, sharp, full of hate. Like just talking about me annoyed him. Like I was already a burden he couldn’t wait to get rid of. Like he wanted to make sure I heard every bit of rejection in his tone. As if I wasn’t even worth the breath he used to speak. I stood there frozen, feeling the weight of his judgment press down on my
Before I walked right into their argument and gained their attention, I had heard them fighting for the throne; the stakes were high, and none of them were willing to give it up.“I am the rightful owner, Bryan,” Aidan snarled, his tone biting. He was the first to strike his impatience clear as the day, his fingers clenched into fists at his sides. “You’re not fit to rule. The kingdom needs a strong leader, not some hothead.”Aidan’s cold gaze turned on Bryan, the tension between them palpable. “I’ll be the one who leads, not you. “You are not as powerful and strong as I am.” His voice roared, his eyes blazing like fire.Callum, who stood afar off just watched the drama Infront of him; he was trying to control his laughter, and one could say he enjoyed every bit of it.He had always played around during serious moments, and one would think he's unworthy, but he's like a lion waiting for the perfect moment to pounce on its prey. “This isn't worth it, neither of you will win if you ke
