The past month had brought a river of tears and anguish- my husband, the man I thought I'd spend eternity by, had been unfaithful. We got married in a white ceremony instead of exchanging rings, as he did not want any physical symbols of binding nor to have children with me.
He had always been gentle and loving prior to her return, but now I felt his heart pull towards someone else.
That someone I fear has my husband’s heart.
Would I ever get my happy ending living in such a loveless and shallow marriage?
As I sat on the edge of our bed, my hands clasped tightly together, I stared at the empty space beside me. It had been a long time since Thorne came home on time, and I couldn't shake the feeling that something was terribly wrong.
I watched the clock and continued to wait for his arrival. It’s been over five hours and usually he is home before dinner at five o’clock sharp; however he has not been on time since she arrived back in the Crescent Moon pack; Vanessa Ivanov, the Beta’s daughter.
The first love of Thorne. The love he never got over.
Ever since she had come back, my husband had been behaving oddly. He was gone every morning before I awoke and returned each night after I had gone to bed. His explanation for his strange behavior was that he had been coming in so late and didn't want to disturb me. Instead of sleeping in our master bedroom, he had slept in the guest quarters.
My husband Thorne married me only to appease his father, so I know he doesn't love me. Our marriage isn't about love, it's only for show in the pack's eyes. Lately, the isolation and avoidance has become too much to bear.
It is one thing for him to be spending so much time away from me; his Luna, but it is an entirely different thing for him to be replacing me with her. The constant lies, the betrayal, the cheating. It's all too much for me to bear. I've tried to be the perfect Luna, to love and support my husband and his duties as the Alpha, but it's all for nothing. My heart aches as I think of him with her, laughing and holding hands, while I'm left alone in our bed.
I heard a car door open and close, but I was too deep in my thoughts to pay attention. When it registered, I scrambled to my feet. He had come in. My heart pounding, I slowly peered out the door and saw him disappear around the corner.
I slid down the door, my legs numb and heavy. I had breathed her in as soon as he entered--the sickly sweet perfume that she always wore mixed with his cologne. My heart burned and tears welled up in my eyes. With shaking hands, I pulled at my wedding ring, but it wouldn't budge - a reminder that I was stuck and what I could never have. I felt utterly defeated.
Crying myself to sleep, I wondered how it got to this? The saddest part was that over the years of marriage we have been together I grew to have feelings for him even though I knew it would never be reciprocated.

Thorne was up and at the kitchen table when I arrived down stairs. We stared at each other for a long time and I thought I detected a look of regret but then as quick as it was there it disappeared.
“ Will you be home on time tonight?” I asked him as he had the paper up, checking his stocks. He looked up for a brief moment and nodded.
“ Yes. I will be home on time. You know, Leah, I have a lot of responsibilities as Alpha. There is a lot going on and…”
"Thorne, we need to talk," I said quietly when he finally came through the door, his tie undone and his hair tousled.
"Of course, love," he replied, not meeting my eyes. "I'll get cleaned up, and we can have dinner."
"Actually," I said hesitantly, "I wanted to talk now."
"Alright." He sighed, sitting next to me. His shoulders were tense, and I could feel the distance between us like never before. "What's on your mind?"
"Vanessa Ivanov is back in town," I said, watching for his reaction. But his face remained inscrutable.
"Is that so?" Thorne responded nonchalantly. "Well, I'm sure she has her reasons."
"Thorne, you've been acting strangely since she returned. Please, tell me what's going on." My voice trembled, but I tried to sound strong.
"Nothing's going on, Azalea. I've just been busy with work, that's all." He stood up abruptly, walking towards the door. "I promise we'll talk more at dinner."
"Wait!" I called out, desperate for answers. But he was already gone, leaving me alone with my suspicions.
As the night approached, I finished getting ready and waited for Thorne's arrival. He said he would be home on time, so I had dinner ready and was waiting for him.
But as the clock struck seven, he still hadn't shown up. I tried calling him, but it went straight to voicemail. I paced back and forth, trying to keep my anxiety at bay.
Hours later, Thorne still hadn't returned from his "sudden business meeting" that had left me waiting impatiently. I picked up my phone, dialing Vanessa's number – a bold move, but one I felt necessary. The call went unanswered, but moments later, a picture message appeared on my screen: Thorne, standing in Vanessa's living room, his smile strained.
I threw the phone, my heart shattering as I faced his infidelity. The evidence was still-framed on the screen. I tried to suppress thoughts of them, but knew I was in for a sleepless night--his betrayal seared into my mind.
I felt my heart shatter into a million pieces. Why Thorne?
POV Thorne The next morning, I woke up to find Azalea curled up in my arms, her head on my chest. She stirred, stretching lazily as she opened her eyes, and smiled up at me. It was the most beautiful sight I'd ever seen. I ran my fingers through her hair, marveling at how good it felt to have her here with me. "Good morning, Luna," I whispered, kissing her forehead. She ran her hand over my chest, "Good morning, Alpha," she murmured back. "What do you want to do today? You have two options. Option one, stay in bed all day making love or option two, make love in every area of the house?" I asked her with a grin. She giggled, "Well, since we have the whole day...""My plan is to get you pregnant with my pups, baby." I growled, kissing her deeply. "I want our pack to be strong, and I want them to have you as their mother." She looked up at me with tears in her eyes, and I knew what she was thinking. "I love you, Thorne. I will always love you. And I will always be your Luna, no
POV Azalea I nestled deeper into the warm embrace of my mate's strong arms, feeling the steady beat of his heart against my back. His skin was so smooth, and his muscles so defined. It was as if he were sculpted from marble, and I was his masterpiece. The warm water lapped gently at my skin, easing away the tension that had built up over the past few days. I closed my eyes, savoring the feeling of being so close to him, wanting to stay like this forever."Make love to me, Thorne." I whispered, feeling the need for him to take me, claim me, mark me as his. I arched my back, pressing my body further into his. His hands skimmed down my sides, cupping my hips before sliding lower, and I let out a moan as he found my core. His fingers traced circles around my entrance, teasing and taunting me. I felt the familiar ache begin to build deep within, a longing so intense it threatened to consume me."Is that what my Luna wants from her Alpha?" Thorne whispered, his voice rough with d
POV ThorneI went to the door and took a deep breath as I opened the door to see her. When I saw her dressed in her favorite sweater and jeans, I felt a wave of nostalgia wash over me. She looked as beautiful as ever. "Hey," I said softly, not knowing what else to say. As she walked in I checked out her ass in the jeans she was wearing. I felt my wolf stirring inside me, wanting to claim her right there. "Stop it." I told him as she took a seat on the sofa, her sweater hanging low enough to give me a glimpse of her perfect valleys beneath. My wolf whined in response. I understood his response. Azalea's body was amazing"So what did you want to talk about?" She asked, glancing around the room before meeting my eyes again. Her gaze was guarded, as if she was waiting for me to spring some sort of trap. I had her he
POV Thorne The ceremony for the Alpha and Luna of The Gray Ridge Pack had finally arrived and I waited for Azalea to join me. When she arrived wearing a beautiful sapphire blue gown that hugged her curves perfectly, my breath caught in my throat. She looked so stunning it was hard to believe it was her. She approached me and I offered her my arm, leading her to the front of the hall where the rest of the pack was gathering. It was just the two of us and I was happy that Axel didn't accompany her this time and Vanessa wasn't able to attend either. We met the Alpha and Luna from the Gray Ridge Pack and made our rounds, shaking hands and exchanging pleasantries. I could see the way the other pack members looked at Azalea, their eyes full of admiration and respect. She was truly beautiful, not just on the outside, but inside as well. She was kind, caring, and selfless, always putting others before herself. A true Luna if I ever saw one."Shall we?" I asked and led her to the dance fl
POV AxelAfter I left Azalea's home I headed to see the only person who I could confide in, the only person who would understand; Vanessa. As I walked into her room she was in the middle of fucking Thorne's brother Victor. She was twisted, I'll give her that. Sleeping with Thorne's brother while stringing along Thorne on a string. After a while I grew tired of their constant moaning and pulled the blankets off, grabbing their attention. "Get the fuck out, Pretty Boy! " I told him, shoving him roughly away from Vanessa. "And you, you little slut, you're lucky I don't kill you right now. " I growled at her, my anger bubbling just beneath the surface. "What the hell do you think you're doing? You know you're mine, you know you're meant for me!" Vanessa looked at me and smiled, licking her lips seductively. "Oh, Axel, you're so dramatic. You know you can't live without me. And I need you just as much. We're perfect together." She crawled across the bed towards me, her fingers trailing
POV Azalea As I listened to Glenda, I sighed heavily, leaning against the doorframe. Glenda put a comforting hand on my shoulder. "I know it's hard, but take all the time you need," she said softly. "You don't have to rush into anything." I nodded, feeling a bit of relief wash over me. I wasn't sure if I could ever forgive Thorne for what he'd done, but I also didn't want to lose him completely. I needed time to sort out my feelings, to figure out if there was any way for us to move forward. It didn't help matters that Vanessa seemed to be lurking around every corner either, it really felt as if all the cards were stacked against us and no matter what we did they could fall at any given moment. I didn't want to be constantly looking over my shoulder, constantly worrying about what she might say or do next. I needed to focus on myself, on finding my own happiness and peace. I started up my classes again for business and kept my distance from any duties as Luna of the pack.
POV Azalea Glenda looked at Thorne again before leaning in closer to me. "I know you're hurting, Azalea. And I know that Thorne can be...difficult at times. But I also know that he loves you and he's willing to do anything to make things right." She paused, searching my eyes. "Give him a chance to prove it to you."I felt my heart lurch at her words. I wanted to believe her, wanted to believe that Thorne really did love me and that he would change. But at the same time, I was so hurt and angry. I didn't know what to do."I-I don't know," I stammered. "I just need some time."Glenda nodded understandingly. "Of course you do. But don't shut him out completely. He's your mate, Azalea. You belong together..."I furrowed my brows, "How do you know that?" I asked."I beg your pardon, Dear?" She asked me, her eyes searching mine."How do you know we are even meant to be together. The Moon Goddess can be mistaken, she can't always be right, can she?" Glenda's eyes grew wide wi
POV Azalea Days went by since my return and after my fall-out with Axel over where I was and what I was doing I started to slowly settle back into the world around me. I didn't, however, take on any duties as the Luna. That was a title I wanted nothing to do with currently, that title reminded me of Thorne and his infidelity. I had heard he went to look for me while Axel stayed behind but I wasn't about to get caught up in emotions again. He probably just went to look for me because he felt guilty for causing my decision to leave in the first place, whatever the reason I could not allow it to influence me in any way, I promised myself I would not, could not fall into that trap again. Sure it would be hard but I had to try.As I was sitting on my front porch I saw a familiar car driving down the road. Thorne had returned. "Hello?" I called out to him as he walked up to the porch."Hello, my love," he said, looking a bit worn out. "I'm sorry for not returning sooner, I had to take
Finally, I reached the cabin. It was small and quaint, nestled at the base of a hill. The front door was open, a invitation to come inside. With a deep breath, I stepped inside. The air smelled of pine and wood smoke, and there was a cozy fire crackling in the fireplace. I called out her name, my voice soft and uncertain. There was no answer, then an older woman appeared from the back, she was watching me, her hazel eyes held mine."You won't find your Azalea here, child. She went back to your pack." She said softly then went into the kitchen and began setting the table for two. "Who are you?" I asked her as I watched her busy herself in the kitchen."I'm Glenda, child. I'm a hybrid werewolf who owns the local Inn where your Azalea was staying up until recently. Oh that girl, she's one tough cookie, that one." She said as she spoke of Azalea."How do you know who I am?" I asked and she looked at me, wrapping her long finger nails around a blue talisman. "Oh, I have my wa
