Chapter 81: Haunted by the Past

Elisa's POV:

My eyes snapped open, fear and sadness coursing through me. I gasped for breath, my chest heaving as tears streamed down my face. A small whimper escaped my lips as I curled into a ball on the bed.

I had seen it again. The nightmare that haunted me, night after night. My parents, engulfed in flames, crawling toward me, calling my name as they burned. I watched, unable to move, unable to save them.

I wanted to reach out to them, to feel their pain, to be with them in their final moments, but just as they were about to touch me, darkness engulfed everything.

I knew it was a dream, a recurring torment, but that didn't make it any less terrifying. The fear and sadness overwhelmed me, and I trembled uncontrollably.

I wrapped my arms around myself, trying to find some comfort, but there was none to be had. I didn't want to experience that nightmare again, to see my parents in agony. I didn't want to relive that moment.
