-Xavier
I followed the blondie with green eyes. I didn't expect her to reject me the moment she sees me. She has the audacity to look me in the eye and cock block me although I admit that Her scent was the sweetest thing to have gone through my nostrils in decades.
I reached her. She looked like she was hiding.
My heart was beating at its peak and it was pissing me off how confusing this situation was for me.
I stood behind her and whispered.
“Why are you running away?" I asked and she jumped slightly in shock. Did she really think she was hiding?
She turned in the chair with a fake smile. “I’m sorry sir but I’m already done for the night, maybe next week.”
Was she playing me for a fool or just trying to see how much I’ll hold back before I break? I grunted in annoyance. I can’t keep playing these games with her when we both know what happens after mates meet.
“You’re coming with me tonight.”
She must’ve gotten mad that her little act didn’t work because she then got a look of fear that morphed into anger. “Leave me alone.”
I got closer to her to make sure she hears me loud and clear.
“No.”
I was getting more irritated by her defiance but at the same time I was curious about how much she’d resist before giving in because I could smell her need for me, a growing tinge of lust in the air. I could hear her heart beating rapidly.
“Leave me or else I’ll call security.” She said as she looked me straight in the eye as she was strongly fighting her desire. She was strongly trying to dissociate herself from our connection.
Three security guards appeared from the crowd shortly after me, asking me to leave immediately for causing chaos earlier. Shouldn’t they be locking up that bastard for rape and sexual assault? When they saw my face they didn’t lay a hand on me or else they’d know the outcome the hard way.
I escorted myself out and stood at the front of the club in the shadows where I couldn’t be seen. I wasn’t leaving just yet.
In a few minutes, her scent once again filled the air. She smelt like fresh spring flowers in a blueberry field with a hint of bananas. It was somewhat innocent and unique.
I don’t want to ask why she has such a job because I know extremely well that life can throw shit at you when you least expect it. I saw her walk in a jumpsuit, a hoodie covering her hair, and a backpack secured on her back.
I didn’t get to see her face thought, I wonder what she actually looks like, it can’t be too far from what I saw, right?
A few steps away from the club, she started to jog. The further she went, the fainter her scent. I let out a sigh as I gazed at her form merging into the distance and soon being swallowed by the sparse crowd.
How dare she reject me, Alpha Xavier fuckin Kingston. She has no idea what I can do, does she?
I laughed patronizingly as I reached for my pocket to check the time.
I adjusted the mask on my face and paced back into the club and through the employee-only door. I proceeded to the large wooden door tagged. “Ms. Veronica’s office.”
I went through and saw a familiar black-haired lady with a cigarette between her fingers.
Red lipstick resting on her lips, cat eyes looking directly at me, and a paper resting between her fingers.
When her gaze met mine, her lips curved into a grin. She then pressed the tip of her cigarette into the ashtray and lay the paper in her other hand to rest on.
“Yes, Mr. Kingston, it’s been a while,” she got up from her seat and straightened her short pencil skirt before heading to a cabinet and getting out a wine bottle.
“Any new ones?” I inquired.
She searched in a drawer at her desk and got two wine glasses.
“First have a seat so we can have a proper talk.”
Her red manicured fingers pointed toward the chair in front of her desk.
She always did this but she never learned that I wasn’t here for her anymore.
I sat nonetheless and accepted the wine she offered me.
“There aren’t new ones this month, we got a lot of employees you know and I could just link you up with some other girls I know.” She swayed her glass around before taking another sip.
“I might not get any though.”
She intentionally unbuttoned the first two buttons of her white dress shirt and smirked.
“You know, two years isn’t such a long time ago.”
I know what she was trying to narrow it down to so I looked at her blankly.
“Link me up, just show me what you have right now,” I said seriously she looked slightly irritated but got a tablet on her desk nonetheless.
“Today, we have Sharley, Christine, Joanne, and Aquila who aren’t booked.” She read through and sent me the tab to look through. I looked at four of them and felt disinterested.
“A chick named Sunny, I saw her today. How come I’ve never seen her?”
“Well, she’s a dancer mainly but you can still book I guess, she has high standards for a whore though.”
She took a sip from her wine glass and inhaled the cigarette then let out a puff.
I hate it when she’s like this. She doesn’t know she’s a whore as well, she should stop dissociating herself from her kind.
“Tomorrow, 9 pm, I’ll be here.”
I stood up swiftly and left after that. I didn’t want to hear any more from her.
I don't think I'll be able to sleep today because I can feel my wolf's excitement. I don't blame him, we have been searching for our mate for a long time. A little over a decade now.
I must come back tomorrow since it is late and she's probably already too flustered.
I guess the saying is right ‘A crappy beginning makes a good ending.’ For all the crap I faced during the day, I landed a mate at the end of it all. Usually, werewolves find their mates on their eighteenth birthday but I didn't and I’m guessing it’s because she’s a rogue so there’s no way I’d find her near a packed house.
Despite having a high-ranking pack, I am undermined by other alphas because I don't have a mate.
I finally found a mate but my mate happens to be able to resist my charisma. She's different and excites me in a strange way.
I don’t know about her making an excellent queen but I know she’s hot as fuck and as long as I convince her to join the pack and help me climb ranks, I wouldn’t care less about anything else.
Being an alpha is already difficult. Now I have to find a way of convincing her to be my mate. This is going to become a daily side hassle for me considering she’s stubborn as fuck.
For now, I’ll keep it a secret from my pack because they will intervene as they did with Ray and Julian.
I might have to talk to Walter, the Beta about this issue exclusively because I might have found a very interesting chess piece.
Sierra's P.O.V My eyes fluttered open as a streak of sunlight struck them. I groaned and swirled to face the opposite direction but it wasn’t as comfortable. It took me no less than ten minutes to sprawl out of my bed. I only work at night from nine o'clock to two o'clock in the Morning so I fall deep into sleep whenever I return and wake up at noon or something. I found Courtney in the kitchen sitting on the island. "Good Morning little sis," I said to her as I rubbed the sleep off my eyes. "Good Morning Sierra. What's for breakfast?" She said excitedly. This little girl goes to sleep and wakes up with thoughts of food only. I looked at her for a while before answering her. "Have you brushed your teeth?" She shook her head from side to side meaning no. "No breakfast until your teeth are pearl white," I gestured for her to follow me to the bathroom. "Okay." She had disappointment in her tone as she got off the chair and dragged her little feet to follow me to the bathroom. Be
CHAPTER 6 -Xavier It didn’t take rocket science for me to figure out that Sierra is the dancer at the club. Just this morning, I researched in the werewolf databases for her, and nothing popped up but when I did deeper research using the information Ms. Veronica gave me about her –Sunny- I managed to get a lead on who she is in private. There was only one picture of her and it would be an underestimation for me to say she looked different from when she was at work- they looked like two completely different people from two completely different parts of the world. All in all, I’m impressed, she’s quite the looker. “Walter, let’s leave.” “But I’m not yet done.” He replied with his mouth half full of chocolate ice cream cake. “Why did you follow me here, I thought I left you with work to finish back at the pack house.” “I wanted to be your wingman, dude. You didn’t seem to be having luck with having a conve
I was sleeping so soundly today, I felt so good sleeping from 9pm to noon. My peace was interrupted by a loud door slam. I groaned as I buried my face deep in my pillow. Just five more minutes, five more minutes of blissful sleep then you can disturb me. Small fingers poked my face and I opened my eyes to meet a smiling Courtney. "Wake up big sis, It's already noon."she ran to the curtains and drew them apart. I groaned because I had no other choice but to wake up. We did our usual morning routine and we went to the living room after breakfast. We indulged in a steamy game of cards. I had only useless cards in my hand but I wore the best poker face I possibly could. "Card!" she said as she placed the joker and rejoiced in victory. Seriously, my six-year-old sister is better than me at cards. "Another game?" she asked excitedly. "No, I'll lose." I already lost the last six games. Is there anyone in this world with luck worse than mine? No wonder I’m out there finding mates. "O
-Sierra Today was Friday and I happened to still be 'sick' so I was in bed binge-watching on N*****x. My bed was a mess, my hair was up in a bun and I was in pajamas. Although nothing ever seems as interesting to me these days, I insist on watching television to pass time. Just when I had found my comfortable position, Courtney opened my door and gave me a disappointed look. "I can't take this anymore, You've been doing nothing since Saturday. We need to take a walk to the Farmer's market now and get groceries, the fridge is half full," she said sternly and I felt compelled to do what she wanted me to because she was kinda right. My curtains aren’t open and my room is a mess. "I'm coming back in five minutes and you better be ready." she deadpanned and slammed the door. In fear of the six-year-old, I immediately got out of bed and scurried through my closet to get my hands on the nearest cloth. I put on whatever random bullshit my hands landed on and got a bundle of money then st
...........THE NEXT MORNING................. "Rwaar, I'm a bear and I'm taking over this territory," I said uninterestedly while waving my arms in the air playing super park ranger with Courtney. I was currently in a bear costume. She gave me a disappointed look. She was in a park ranger outfit. "Come on, Sierra more energy," she said and I rolled my eyes in disinterest but then continued to talk. "Sierra, could I be the flower girl at You and Xavier's wedding," she said and I opened my eyes now fuelled by anger. "I TOLD YOU I’M NOT MARRYING HIM!" I exclaimed and she started running with her hands in the air. "Aah, we need a brave and strong park ranger," she said and went behind the couch and put on a park ranger hat and scarf plus a fake mustache with straw in her mouth as she was holding a toy gun. It was her Halloween costume and the bear costume was mine. "DID ANYONE SAY THEY NEEDED A BRAVE AND STRONG PARK RANGER," she said trying to replicate a man's voice but she just soun
..............the next day......................... This is the last place I wanted to be at is what I wanted to say to Courtney as we sat on the park bench. "Courtney, are you sure you don't want to go to the zoo or beach?" I asked her trying to convince her. "No, I want to see Xavier, my prince." she said excitedly and I couldn't help but notice how excited and happy she was to meet that mother fucker. He insulted me yesterday yet he doesn't know a damn thing about me. Honestly, for the first time in a long time, I actually felt hurt by words. Could it be because he is my mate? I swayed my head from side to side and looked to the sky trying to get the thoughts of him out of my mind. "Xavier!" Courtney exclaimed and I got scared as I looked where she was running to and saw familiar blue eyes and dark hair.
CHAPTER 10 “Xavier..” I couldn’t form a sentence. I heard him let out a low growl from his throat and felt butterflies erupt in my stomach. “Say that again, I liked it.” His deep voice rang in my ears as his hand went under my shirt and onto my bare waist. I couldn’t think now, my mind was clouded. “Xavier,” I repeated as told and he sucked on the skin on my neck before replying. “Good girl.” He gently turned me so I was on my back. He wasn’t in the mask anymore but I couldn’t get a proper look at his face. All I could see was his bright eyes looking directly into mine My hand found its way to his cheek then my thumb caressed his bottom lip. He held my hand that was on his cheek and kissed my palm as he looked me straight in the eye. “I need your confirmation. Do you want to?” he said looking directly into my eyes. God, I wanted to, so bad. My body was burning. “Yes,” I said and he let out a low chuckle as he buried his head in my neck kissing and sucking the skin leaving fla
"Finally, you made up." Courtney said suddenly and I smiled awkwardly as I scratched the back of my neck. "I thought you went to play with your friends." I said quickly changing the topic. "I was but I saw you two looking like you were about to leave so I rushed over." she said looking from me to Xavier. "No, we were not." I protested and she shrugged her shoulders and walked off. I sighed. "So, can I have your contact?" Xavier asked sternly as if no wasn’t an option. It didn’t even sound like a question. I cringed. “Fuck no.” I said loud enough for him to here. I response, he leaned to whisper in my ear and spoke. “Would you rather I get it from somewhere else?” he said in a slight whisper and I felt my insides start to boil. Who the fuck does he think he is? He pulled back and didn’t have a change in expression or maybe that mask was hiding his possibly hideous smile. I held out my hand and he placed his phone on it. ‘You win this time jerk, next time, you’ll see.’ I typed in
