THE PAST

The warrior they brought to the temple was covered in so much blood he was dying, anyone with eyes could see that, but the three priestesses who’d examined him had already refused to heal him, claiming his wounds were too severe and they’d only waste their power trying, but the temple elders had sent for Yara anyway because she’d never lost anyone yet.
