My Awful Parents' Unbelievable Actions

My parents were arguing again. The room was filled with noises. They smashed almost everything in the house.

My brother and I were driven out the window from our bed by our mother.

The two of us weren't wearing very much and were sitting on the condenser fan unit barefooted.

Mom stood stood by the window and pointed at us. "Zack Jackson, if you dare go and find that vixen again, the three of us will jump off this building together!"

Dad wreaked of alcohol and said impatiently, "Go ahead and jump then! You always use this excuse to threaten me, it's better that you jump. Then I'll be able to marry Amber right away!"

Mom's hair was a mess and her body trembled with anger. She picked up the mug next to her and threw it at Dad and cursed, "You loser!"

Dad wasn't going to just sit back and do nothing after having a mug thrown at him. He immediately slapped Mom in the face. "Don't you know your place? We can get a divorce right now if you want! I've had enough of you a long time ago!"

With that said, he slammed the door close and left. He slammed the door so hard that the whole building seemed to have trembled.

Mom was kneeling by the window covering her face. She asked me in a daze, "Jordan, did you hear what he said? He doesn't want us anymore."

I didn't care what they were arguing about. We were on the 18th floor. The cold window could cause my brother and I to fall at any moment.

I couldn't help but tremble.

"Mom, my brother and I still love you. Can you let us in first? It's so cold."

My brother's face was already red due to the cold. His snot trickled down his nose and into his mouth.

He tried his best to move closer into my arms and his arms and feet were as cold as eyes.

But Mom didn't seem to hear what we said. She just repeated again and again, "He wants to divorce me. He doesn't want to be with us anymore."

My feet were frozen and I didn't understand why Mom remained by the window and was unwilling to pull us back in.

My brother, Adam, was still young. It was the beginning of the winter. If he stayed outdoor, he would definitely fall ill.

I moved me hands and feet and then stood up. I wanted to help my brother back into the house first.

I pulled him up and pushed him to let him head indoors first.

However, Mom suddenly stood up and pushed me.

"Did I say you could come in? Your dad didn't even take a look at you! What use do I have for you?"

Adam was terrified and started crying, but Mom cursed, "If it weren't for you, I would have gotten the divorce a long time ago! Shut your mouth! If you keep crying, you can forget about coming back inside!"

It was a good thing that Adam was already halfway through the window and fell into the room. However, I was pushed to the edge of the condenser fan unit.

If I didn't have good reflexes and grabbed the condenser fan unit, I would have probably fallen off the edge.

I was literally lying flat on the condenser fan unit with my legs hanging off the edge.

I didn't dare look down. I cried and asked Mom to help me.

Mom was shocked as well, but she just stuck her head out the window to look at me before going back inside again.

"You shouldn't blame me even if you really fall off. Your dad's the one to blame. It's all because he didn't try to save you just now."

With that said, she closed the window, which shielded her from the cold wind and my calls for help from the outside.

My hands were aching and tears kept on streaming down my face. I shouted for my mom at the top of my voice. "Mom, I'll listen to everything you say in the future. I won't ever take Adam out to have sweets. Please don't abandon me. Mom, I don't want to die. I really don't want to fall off. Mom, I love you. I'll be a good. I don't want Dad anymore..."
