LOGINThe name alone changed everything.
Giovanni’s face lost all its color. His eyes widened with fear, and his body began to tremble uncontrollably. The arrogance he had carried only moments ago disappeared completely. His fingers loosened instantly, releasing Renata’s wrist as if he had been burned.
Then, Giovanni dropped to his knees in front of him.
“Please… forgive me,” Giovanni said, his voice shaking. “I did not know. I swear, I did not know.”
Renata stood frozen, her wrist still aching, her mind struggling to understand what she was seeing. This was the same man who had forced her, threatened her, and ordered everyone around as if he owned them. Yet now, he was kneeling like a frightened servant.
She slowly turned her gaze toward Domenico.
The entire hall had fallen silent. The guests who watched her suffering now stood motionless, their faces filled with fear.
And in that moment, Renata realized that the man standing before her was not just the father of her child.
He was someone far more dangerous than she had ever imagined.
If this was truly God’s answer to her prayers, Renata felt no relief.
Only a deeper fear settled into her bones.
She had begged for someone to stop the wedding, and begged for a way to escape Giovanni. But she had never imagined that her salvation would come in the form of a man who could take a life without hesitation.
She had seen it with her own eyes. He had pulled the trigger without remorse, without even a flicker of hesitation.
A man like that could not be gentle, and could not be merciful.
Her heart pounded harder as Domenico slowly turned his gaze toward her. His dark eyes settled on her face as if nothing else in the world mattered.
Renata’s breath caught in her throat. Fear took control of her instincts, and before she could stop herself, she took a step back.
Domenico’s expression did not change, but his eyes followed her. Without saying a word, he handed the gun to the man standing behind him. The man accepted it immediately, lowering his head in silent obedience.
Renata’s body tensed as Domenico stepped closer.
She wanted to run, but her feet refused to move.
Before she could react, he bent slightly and lifted her into his arms.
The sudden motion stole the air from her lungs. She gasped softly, her hands instinctively pressing against his chest. She could feel the strength in his arms. It was not the touch of a man asking for permission. It was the hold of a man who had already made his decision to keep her by his side.
“I’ve been searching for you since that night,” Domenico said, his voice low but clear enough for her to hear every word.
Renata’s heart skipped a beat.
“And now,” he continued, “no one will stop me from having you by my side. Not even God.”
He turned without waiting for a response and began walking down the aisle, carrying her as if she belonged there. The guests quickly stepped aside, lowering their eyes, unwilling to meet his gaze. Fear followed him wherever he walked.
Renata was unable to move her gaze from his face until he settled her into the backseat of the car before climbing inside.
“Did he hurt you?” Domenico asked. His hand moved toward her wrist, his fingers hovering over the darkening bruise left by Giovanni’s grip. His touch was careful as if examining something that belonged to him.
Renata’s breath caught the moment his skin brushed hers.
Fear surged through her instantly, and she pulled her hand back, pressing it protectively against herself. Her body shifted away from him, trying to create distance in the confined space of the car.
“Please… let me go,” she said, her eyes pleading with him, though she already feared she knew the answer.
Domenico did not look offended by her rejection. Instead, he watched her closely. “Not until you give birth to my child,” he said firmly. His gaze dropped briefly to her stomach before returning to her face. “The baby you are carrying is mine.”
Renata’s lips parted in shock, but no words came out. Her thoughts spiraled, confusion and fear tangling together. Before she could gather the courage to question him further, Domenico turned his attention forward and gave a simple nod to the driver.
The engine started immediately.
Around them, the other vehicles began to move as well, his men already inside, forming a silent convoy. The church disappeared behind them as the car drove forward, taking her farther away from everything she had ever known.
Renata’s hands trembled in her lap. She felt trapped, powerless, sitting beside a man who had taken control of her life. She forced herself to look at him. “Who are you?” she asked. “You killed a man… in front of everyone.”
Domenico leaned back against his seat, completely at ease, as if nothing that had happened was unusual. He fastened his seatbelt calmly before turning his head toward her. A faint smirk formed on his lips, not out of amusement, but out of confidence.
“I am the man everyone fears,” he said. “The one they warn their enemies about.”
His eyes held hers, causing a shiver to run down her spine.
“That old man begged for his life the moment he realized who I was,” he continued. “But I do not give mercy to men who touch what belongs to me.”
Renata felt her breath grow shallow as his hand lifted again. His thumb hovered near her cheek, close enough for her to feel the warmth of his skin, but not quite touching.
“I will make sure he suffers,” Domenico said. “Men like him do not deserve a quick death. Also, I promised you that I would return to you once my work finished. So, why the fuck did you step into the aisle?”
“It won’t happen,” Paolo said firmly. His calm voice made both Natasha and Luisa look at him in confusion. Natasha was still on the floor, her eyes swollen with tears, while Luisa stood beside her, trying to steady her own trembling nerves. Both of them stared at Paolo, waiting for him to explain.“If we take help from Renata,” he said after a moment, “Giovanni can be stopped.”Luisa’s brows knitted together in disbelief.“Renata?” she repeated. “We don’t even know where she has been taken.” Her voice carried both irritation and anxiety. “And even if we did, do you really believe she would help us after everything we did to her?”She crossed her arms tightly, recalling the events of the morning.“We tried to force her to marry Giovanni,” Luisa continued bitterly. “We treated her like a burden and tried to sell her off for money. Why would she help us now?”Natasha slowly shook her head, her face pale with fear as she stood up.“Dad… she won’t help me,” she said weakly. “Renata hates m
Paolo stepped forward quickly, raising his hands as if he could calm the chaos that had suddenly erupted in the room. He tried to regain control of the situation before it spiraled further out of his grasp.“Giovanni, you cannot take my second daughter like this,” he said firmly, forcing authority into his tone. “You seem to be forgetting something very important. My son-in-law is Domenico Veronesi. If he finds out that you are trying to trade my daughter’s life like this, he will not hesitate to kill you.”His eyes flickered briefly toward Luisa, silently signaling her to act.“Luisa,” he said sharply, “take Natasha to her room.”Luisa immediately moved toward her daughter, her face pale with shock. Natasha stood frozen, her earlier arrogance gone, replaced by pure panic. She clutched her father’s arm as if it were the only thing keeping her from collapsing.Paolo stepped closer to Giovanni, cautiously reaching out as if to remove the older man’s grip from Natasha’s arm.But before h
Natasha paced back and forth in her room, biting her nails. She was still in shock after what had happened at the church.Everything had unfolded too suddenly. The ceremony had barely begun before chaos broke out.She stopped walking for a moment, her heart beating faster as the scene replayed in her mind. Her mind was filled with Domenico’s handsomeness and Emilio’s calmness.Something was unsettling about the two of them for sure, but Natasha didn’t care whether they were dangerous or not.All she knew was that they were powerful enough to walk into a church full of Giovanni’s men and stop him without hesitation.“Why?!” Natasha clenched her fists. “I was finally able to push that slut into the hell she deserved! Then who the hell was he to take her away!?”She continued pacing around the room angrily, her heels hitting the floor with force.Everything had been perfectly planned.Renata was supposed to marry Giovanni, and after that, her life would have been ruined forever.Natasha
After leaving Renata’s room, Domenico paused in the hallway and turned toward the head butler, who had been waiting nervously nearby. The older man straightened immediately, sensing that another order was coming.“Send nutritious meals to her room,” Domenico instructed. His eyes briefly shifted toward the closed door behind him before returning to the butler. “And make sure she eats.”The butler nodded quickly, but Domenico was not finished.“If she refuses,” he added slowly, “you will be punished.”The words were spoken without anger, yet they carried the threat that left no room for misunderstanding. The butler’s face paled slightly. He bowed at once and hurried down the corridor toward the kitchen, eager to carry out the order before any mistake could be made.Domenico remained where he was for a moment, staring at the door of Renata’s room as if replaying the argument in his mind. Then he turned and walked toward his own room. His room reflected him perfectly. The walls were dress
The car halted in front of a giant mansion, and two bodyguards opened the doors of the car for Renata and Domenico. Two bodyguards stepped forward immediately and opened the doors for Renata and Domenico.Renata didn’t move. Her fingers tightened around the edge of the seat, her body still trembling from everything that had happened.“Take her,” Domenico said flatly, pinching the bridge of his nose as if the sight of her exhausted him. “Help her change into something decent.”The butler had already appeared at the entrance. He bowed slightly and gestured for a maid to step forward. The moment Renata stepped out of the car, the maid hurried to her side.Domenico didn’t even look at her again. He hated the sight of the wedding dress his woman was wearing because he wasn’t the groom.Renata stepped out of the car, but she had a hunch that if she set foot inside, all her freedom would be gone. The maid gently reached for her arm to guide her forward, but before she could move, another fig
The way Domenico stared into Renata’s eyes made her heart race with fear. His gaze was steady but intense, as if he could see through every thought she tried to hide. She opened her mouth to speak, but the weight of his stare made the words stick in her throat. For a moment she simply sat there, frozen, unsure of what to say or how to face him.“Speak,” Domenico said in a commanding tone. His hand remained wrapped around her neck, not tight enough to choke her but strong enough to remind her that she could not simply walk away. “Why are you silent now?”Renata swallowed hard before forcing the words out. “I was forced to walk down that aisle,” she said, her voice shaking despite her effort to stay composed. Her lips quivered as the memories of the church returned, and her eyes slowly filled with tears.“Do you really think I wanted to marry that disgusting old man? My father sold me to him just to save his business.”Once the words started coming, she could no longer stop them. Weeks
