Chapter 39

I appreciated that Elliot allowed me to go home after that conversation we had, without much of a debate. When he was done explaining his reasons and excuses, he said, I can go since I am not ready to process everything that he has said. He instructed his driver to bring me to my apartment, which is a good thing because I still don't want to speak with him. My mind and my heart are at odds with all the truth he said today.

Kyle's apologetic expression doesn't make things any better either. I'm sure he's apologizing for his best friend's behavior. Or maybe he's apologetic because he played a significant role in just about everything that has happened. But, whatever his reasons are, I am not prepared to speak with him just the same.
