Chapter 3

Bella 's POV

Tension fills my heart as I'm preparing to see the only one who makes my heart skip a beat whenever I lay eyes on him online. Since he is an Alpha and would be having a baseball training session at his club's base in Guam, the city which Louis FC, named after his pack, is based by noon, we have scheduled our visit for 3 PM at his club's base.

Guam has been one place I'd so much wanted to visit one day, Louis FC has been my childhood baseball club. I can't guess if this is the reason I came up with a crush on its star player and captain, Melech Apollo . But I know it's way more than that, Melech or Apollo as most fans do call him, is a charming personality, cool and sexy, he has all you can need in a man ranging from his appearance, attitude and his career.

After much thought and guessing, I finally decided to put on a black designer jeans and a customized Adidas hoodie, white and black with a black sneakers.

I wouldn't be putting this on my first day of meeting him, I should be going out as a lady, in a sexy gown or something but since I'm meeting him at his baseball base and not at his pack estate, I got to look smart, it would go a long way in warding off temptations from other players who would be seeing me. It's not advisable to put up a short, sexy gown in a place like Guam. I might end up being assaulted by some of the guys who can't control themselves. Going to court or calling on the police to file a sexual assault case is not part of my list of activities, it would be in my best interest to avoid anything that would lead me towards that way.

If Melech loves me, which I'm not absolutely certain of yet, he should accept me the way I am as long as I'm in something clean and appropriate. It's just a meet-up, not an official date, we would be spending some time at his room in the lounge. Being the Alpha of the pack housing the baseball club, he has been given a three-bedroom flat while other players are given one room, then the least players have to share a massive room with another man until they have stepped up to the rank of their senior colleagues. This is prior to the fast rising number of newly signed players.

I apply a little touch of makeup, using pink on my lips to blend with my naturally pink lips and make it look natural. Since I'm not going for a date and I'm dressed in a sporty way, a light makeup choice as this goes perfectly for me. Now I'm done, I have to battle with my stepmother, the new Luna who came into my dad's life two years ago but with children from her failed marriage.

Max, twenty-two, Zane , eighteen and Layla , who is Zane 's twin. For some time, these quadruples have made life kind of miserable for me. I'm no longer free like when my mom was alive. God bless her soul, I believe she is now with the moon goddess whom every werewolf soul returns to after death. She died of poisoning, up till today the person behind this hasn't been discovered. Dad stopped the investigation into the case immediately Hazel came her way. He just abandoned the whole matter and decided to start a new family, but with her children. I wonder if he wouldn't be having any child with her, that shouldn't even be my concern.

My problem is how to get married off this pack, perhaps to an Alpha because I want to be a Luna too. Hazel has really used her position in oppressing me, I wished I was like my elder brother, Barlas who wouldn't tolerate her nonsense, same with the ones dad wants to bring up upon her wish. He is way much older than me and stronger in mind, the best thing is that he isn't living with us but working in the heart of town, and does come home only for visits.

I take up my bag, with my phone in my hand, exiting my room and locking it behind me. I trod down the stairs to the first floor, and out of nowhere I bump into someone almost falling off the stairs. I look, it's Layla , one devil in the house that is an exact replica of her mother. We are of the same age, but in stature, I look way more mature and attractive than her, one reason for her to be jealous of me.

"Who do you think you are?" She blurts her with a hateful glare without even waiting for me to say anything. What was I gonna say in the first place? I turn to ask myself. Of course, I'm not that weak to tell her sorry when I didn't cause the accident, she must have intentionally come into my way to create an issue. I'm sure she is going to report to her mother after this.

While folding my hands in silence to watch her, she continues, "Why don't you watch your way when you are walking?" She blasts me, giving me a deadly glare. If looks actually killed, I would be dead already with the very depth of hate she has for me, reflected in her glares.

"I think mom is gonna hear this." She descends the stairs to report to Hazel who always occupies the living room watching the TV during most part of the day. Before she could take five steps, I grabbed her on the shoulders.

"Wait!" She turns and looks at me with pride. I sense she is thinking that I'm right after apologizing to her, then my face changes, showing the same hateful glare she had on her eyes.

"Who do you think you are and what do you think your mother would do to me?"

She opens her mouth wide in shock, I've never been bold enough to say something like this in the face of being bullied, my usual response has always been silence and walking away. Even when I decided to defend myself, it hasn't been critical like this.

"You're trying to say mom has no power in this family?"

"Which family?" I ask with a smirk, driving her more crazily shocked. "Who is a family with you and mind you if you are family with dad, I don't see you guys as one and would never take you as one. My own family is my elder brother, Barlas."

I sigh, then turn to walk away, I directly bump into the Lady Adelaide of the house, Hazel , the Luna. Her eyes are glowing with a sort of hate which is not of his world.

"What did you just say?"
