Chocolate and Stars

The drive to Kayla's home was twice as awkward as waiting for the food to arrive. Especially when the waitress came skipping up to us with her cheerful smile. Perhaps it was just the juxtaposition of the story or perhaps it is her oblivious attitude to the atmosphere. 

"So love birds, how is the food?" she giggled as she looked between us. "Can I just say, you two look like a famous celebrity couple or like a fictional power couple," 

"Can we get this to go?" Kayla politely smiled.

Anyone with normal eyes could see that it was fake, but unfortunately for us, our waitress had hearts in her eyes and thus was blinded by her fictional imagination. 

"Ooo, someone is eager to get home huh," she wiggled her eyebrows. 

Kayla and I made eye contact. I'm glad I am not the only one that found her words inappropriate and very disturbing. 

"Please, can we just get a to-go box?" Kayla tried again.
