Chapter 32 A Man Like Him

Author: Sathara
Darius's P.O.V.

"Serena… you have to understand this is Christine's first time on a runway," I pleaded quietly, walking behind her. I didn't want to humiliate myself in front of everyone, but I also couldn't let Christine lose this opportunity.

"Did you not see how horribly she fell?" she snapped, spinning around to glare at me. "She was about to fall again if it hadn't been for Mr. Manning!"

"Serena, you know how much I respect you," I said, keeping my tone even. "You've been a pillar in this industry, and I've grown alongside you because of it. But I won't let your reputation suffer over something as simple as—"

"If you want to get her in bed, find another way," she interrupted coldly. "I'm not risking my name for one of your whims."

I sighed, rubbing my temples. My head was pounding. All I could think about was getting Elliot Manning away from Christine. My mind kept spiraling, wondering what the hell the two of them were doing right now. But even so, I had to stay focused. I n

Elliot's P.O.V.I should have resisted her. I should have had more control. But she could scream in my face one day and beg me to screw her the next, and there I was—like a damn loyal dog. How long had I waited for this? For her to finally give herself to me?Tonight, I wasn't letting her go. Not again.I slid down the zipper of her dress slowly, pressing her against me as my mouth devoured the sensitive skin of her neck. Her whole body radiated heat. The way her hips shifted restlessly told me her body was aching to have me inside her.I peeled off that dress, revealing her smooth, flawless skin, and kissed every inch like I'd starved for her, which I had.She yanked off my tie, fumbling to get my shirt open next. I could feel her urgency, the desperation in her touch. But I didn't want to rush. I wanted her to wait. I wanted to see her squirm, to see her tremble with need.I grabbed the tie she had tossed and wrapped it around her wrists, gently binding them to stop her from t

Christine's P.O.V.That unmistakable scent of tobacco—masculine, smoky, and laced with cologne—hit me before I even looked up. I knew exactly who it was.Elliot.He held me firmly in his arms, anchoring me with that intense gaze of his. The way he looked at me always turned my legs to jelly. His lips were slightly parted, still glistening from whatever he had been drinking—probably whiskey or vodka, neat. He was never a man for cocktails, and he considered beer a lowly drink unless it was as dark as his soul. His mouth was moving, but I couldn't hear him. I was too lost in that face—like it had been carved by the hands of a master sculptor. I sighed softly in response to something I hadn't even registered. He frowned, tilting his head, almost as if he didn't recognize me."Christine…!" A voice called from behind. It was Darius.I turned just in time to see him pushing through the crowd toward us.My body stiffened instinctively. I clung to Elliot's jacket lapels like they were m

Christine's P.O.V.I wasn't used to alcohol, but this drink tasted oddly sweet, and I couldn't help but finish it. Just as Darius was reaching to take my empty glass, Serena appeared out of nowhere, clearly tipsy and riding high on the success we had just had in Paris."Christine! My darling, Christine!" she cried out, her arms opening wide before pulling me into a warm hug.Out of the corner of my eye, I caught Delaney glaring at us from across the room, her expression cold and bitter. It clearly annoyed her to see Serena embracing me when she had spent the whole night following her around like a loyal lapdog. I couldn't resist. I shot her a wink and a smug little smile."Come! I need to talk to you!" Serena said, grabbing my hand.I turned toward Darius, but he looked nervous and tried to follow us. Serena shut that down fast."I said I wanted to talk to her, not both of you! Show some respect!""Serena, I promised I'd take Christine back to her room after one drink," Darius r

Elliot's P.O.V."I want to believe you'll be pleased with the results," Serena said as she adjusted herself beside me."Even I'm proud of that girl."Before I could respond, Christine stepped onto the runway, and my heart nearly stopped.I hadn't felt a rush like this since the day I saw her again in that nightclub. I leaned forward, resting my arms on the edge of the balcony, my eyes fixed on her.Her figure was leaner, more refined. Her complexion was flawless, glowing under the lights. Even her emerald eyes looked clearer and sharper. But that wasn't what captivated me. It was the way she moved—confident, powerful, and completely unbothered. Every step she took radiated pride, and every glance laced with fire. She wasn't just walking—she was commanding the room. And I wasn't the only man who noticed. Unlike that night at the club, when they looked at her with lust and indulgence, tonight… they looked at her with fascination. Obsession. She wasn't just desirable—she was unforge

Christine's P.O.V.Just like Brenda said… I cried blood.I trained until my muscles ached and burned, until I felt like they might snap from the strain. Then, I'd walk the runway again and again, over and over until I got it right. Whenever Serena showed up to observe, she cranked the intensity up to a hundred, correcting my posture with sharp taps from a slim rod on my calves, arms, and even my backside. No part of the training was soft. But it wasn't just about how I walked. Serena drilled me on etiquette—how to eat, how to speak, and how to carry myself. I wasn't even allowed to eat alone. Every meal was taken with her so that she could monitor my adherence to the nutrition plan.A couple of times, I brought my triplets along to dine with us. She clearly wasn't thrilled about it at first, but my boys—sweet, well-behaved, and charming—had a way of winning people over. And surprisingly, they won her over faster than I had expected.Soon, Serena began waiting for us with my enormo

Christine's P.O.V."Well, well… you again," Serena's assistant said with a half-smile as soon as I walked in. "That was quite the fall you took! How's the ankle?""Better… still hurts, but not as much," I replied, returning her smile. "Where's Serena? Apparently, she wants to speak with me.""Are you getting back on the runway?""You'd be a fool if you did," a familiar voice cut in.Tall, poised, and smug as ever, Delaney stepped into view with that unbearable look in her eyes."After that catastrophic tumble, the best thing you could do would be to disappear before you become a running joke. Clearly, this world is too much for you.""You mean the fall you caused," I snapped, crossing my arms as I glared at her smug face."The fall I caused? That's a rather big accusation. Such a shame no one would believe a failure like you," she said with a cruel laugh."What was that? I didn't quite catch it, but I could've sworn you said you wanted me to punch you in the face."Delaney's
