Lexi’s POV

Groaning, I turned and my entire body ached as pain surged through me, making me wince as I struggled to open my eyes.

I’d expected to still remain tied up in that horrible room but when I opened my eyes everything in the room I was in seemed foreign and it took a while before I could realize that I was in my own room.

How did I get in here?

The last thing I remember was seeing Ivan’s evil face smirking at me and just the thought of that alone made raw fear grip me as I looked around.

Taking a look at my body, the bruises were dressed and there were bandages on my body. I looked up to see that the curtain was drawn and the room was pitch dark.

I was grateful to whoever did this because I knew damn well that it couldn’t possibly be Ivan. Wincing, the pain I was feeling was unbearable as I tried to stand.
