Lexi’s POV

“Let me out!” I yelled, banging on the door with so much intensity and it didn’t take long for the door to swing open and the horrible face that I’d grown up to see revealed itself.

“Bang on the door one more time and watch how I make life unbearable for you.” My stepfather snarled and I swallowed down hard.

He always does this, he would lock me up in my room anytime I defied him and just like other days, I’d defied him today too. I came home late and lied about partying because he must not know that I was out job hunting.

Where on earth is it heard that a 25 year old woman still gets sent to timeout or gets locked up in her room by her step father?

I’d tried everything I could to get out of the house but he makes it difficult for me. It seemed as though he’d taken a vow to make sure that I never leave the house that torments me each night I sleep in it.

“You don’t get to lock me up like I’m some child, I’m an adult now and I am old enough to do whatever it is I want to do!” I retorted.

I had no idea where I’d gotten the courage from but I was sure that it was from all my built up frustration because I know deep down that I’m not that bold to talk back to him.

“You’re not even my real fath…” I hadn’t completed my statement when a thunderous slap landed on my face and I staggered.

A bright light flashed across my eyes and for a moment all I could see was fragments. Holding my cheek, I could feel the hotness and the sting that came from the slap as I stared at him in disdain.

“For as long as you stay under this roof, you will do exactly as I say!” He finished firmly before walking out of my room and locking the door behind him.

Staggering, weak and in pain, I walked to my bed and sat on the floor as I placed my head on the edge of the bed and closed my eyes.

The memories of the beautiful life I had with both my parents came flooding me and I couldn’t hold back the tears.

My parents were divorced but that didn’t stop both of them from loving me, neither of them made me feel bad about myself but after the tragic accident of my father I had no other place to stay but with my mother.

My father had refused to get married again and it was the same with my mother until Jack Wyatt’s constant persistence.

He was the best thing that ever happened to my mother and when she sought my advice I asked her to go for it because he was also a nice man to me and now I regret it.

I shouldn’t have agreed.

The blaring sound of my phone ringing jolted me out of my thoughts and I immediately put it on silent because I knew that he could hear it ringing and seize it from me.

“Hey, Bitch!” Camille called as soon as I picked the call and I couldn’t miss the ear piercing music that came from over the phone.

Camille has been my best friend since we were kids, she knew everything about me and when my classmates would taunt me about being the reason for my parents divorce she stood up for me until I learned to do that myself.

“Dude, where the hell are you?” I asked as I crawled up from where I was sitting and sobbing about my miserable life to make my way to the bathroom.

Turning the tap on, I wanted to use that to make Jack think that I’m having a bath if he ever thinks of opening my door and letting me out. Something I know can never happen this evening.

My stomach churned and that was when I realized that I hadn’t eaten anything since I got back from my job hunt. I needed something to take me out of this house, anything but it seems like the closer I get, the farther it becomes.

“First of all, congratulations,” Camille shrieked and I raised an eyebrow like she was going to see me. I had no idea why she’s congratulating me now.

“What’s up? Why are you congratulating me, did I win the lottery?” I joked and she only let out a sigh. The music is now distant and I can hear my best friend clearly.

“You used my mail to apply for that job, the one for the post of a personal assistant to the CEO of CassianTech?” She reminded me and I mentally slapped myself.

I’d forgotten about it completely since it has only always been a dream to work in the biggest Tech company in LA.

“Wait, shut up!” I gasped, “I got accepted?!” I couldn’t help the yell that came out of my mouth when my best friend confirmed it for me.

CassianTech is the biggest and most famous Tech research company in Los Angeles, they’re well known for the creation of both software and hardware and working with them is like a dream come true to me.

“And you have your interview scheduled for Monday!” She shrieked and I joined her. I couldn’t believe that I would be contacted even though I knew that my credentials were good enough.

“This calls for celebration! I’m at the club, want me to come pick you up?” She asked after we were done laughing and yelling and I let out a sigh.

“I can’t do that, he’s locked me up again. I’m lucky he doesn’t have my phone or you wouldn’t have been able to get through to me.” I explained.

She knew about the way I got treated by Jack and multiple times Camille had suggested that I move in with her and even though I wanted to there was no way I could because my destiny lies in his hands and the four walls of this house.

“Girl, fuck him. We have to do something to make him send you out of the house, get him angry,” Camille suggested.

“What do you think I haven’t tried enough? I have and the only thing he does is hit me and put me in timeout like I’m a fucking kid.” I explained with a slight sigh as I sat on the toilet seat.

“I have an idea.” Camille blurted and before I could ask her what it was she already hung the call up. Every part of me was happy that I got the interview and I silently prayed that I wouldn’t blow it but also, there is Jack.

The only time he would allow me work is over his dead body and he doesn’t go a day without rubbing how jobless and how much of a disappointment I am in my face.

Sighing, I was still thinking about how to go about it when I heard a slight tap on my window. Walking towards it, I didn’t need a soothsayer to tell me who it was.

This was her genius idea.

“Let’s get you out of here.” She breathed as she crawled down the window and without thinking, I rummaged through my closet to pick out my best suit.

I’ve been saving it for when I finally get a job interview. Grabbing my phone, I crawled down with her and soon we’re both in her car and out of the building.

“I can’t believe you would do that!” I laughed and Camille shrugged as she stepped on the accelerator while I hung on for dear life. She has always been a horrible driver.

Getting to her house, she pulled me closer for a tight hug and congratulated me while she told me that we needed to go back to the club to celebrate.

I had my bath and when I finished, I walked into the room to see the shortest red gown I have ever laid my eyes on, necklace and stilettos to match with it on the bed.

“We don’t have the whole day,” She started as she asked me to put on the dress and also sit while she applied my makeup and asked me to close my eyes.

“Ta-da! You can open your eyes now.” She said in a singsong manner and I gasped when I saw my reflection in the mirror.

There was no way I would believe that that is me!

The choker complimented the strapless red gown and my face looked better than it has ever looked in years.

My full hair fell on my shoulder and the way the bell earrings dangle anytime I make the slightest movement made my jaw drop.

I look like those magazine models!

“Shocked right? You’ll kill the men! Let’s go.” She laughed as she pulled me up and I put on the shoes before following her downstairs back to her car.

I could hear the sound of my heart pounding and I couldn’t stop thinking about Jack. What if he comes to the club and humiliates me like he usually does?

Shaking the thoughts out of my head, I smiled to myself since tonight is all about having fun and forgetting about my wicked stepfather.

Time paused as Camille and I waltzed in the club, making our way through the crowd to the bar. Pairs of eyes fixated on us and I could hear my heartbeat get louder each minute.

Camille took my hand as we both got to the bar and she ordered us two shots of tequila, “this is to you, for landing such a big interview and I wish you the best of luck. I hope you get the job.” She proposed a toast that made me smile.

Clinking our glasses together, we both downed our shots and let out a sigh because of the burning sensation we both felt in our chest.

Camille has a high alcohol tolerance while me on the other side had a low one. We moved our heads to the music rhythmically until Camille decided she wanted to go to the dance floor.

She’d asked that I follow her but I refused, “boy-shop, pick the right one and lose your virginity tonight.” She winked before making her way to the dance floor.

She was the only one who knew about me being a virgin at 25 and my desperation to lose it but most of the guys I’ve met are douche.

Ordering for another shot, I was about to gulp down the drink when the sight of someone walking towards the bar caught my attention and I almost choked on the drink.

He had brilliant blue eyes, his shoulder-length brown hair spilled over his face and his chiseled jaw made me groan in my seat as my eyes made their way to his chest.

Seeing him walking towards me made my body tingle from head to toe, the strange pulsating sensation gripped my body like a vise and my body quivered with a sensation that I have never felt before, not even while I was dating Carl.

“One glass of Vodka,” he ordered in a thick Russian accent that sent hot chills running through my spine and when I tried to swallow was when I realized that my mouth had been open the whole time.

He looks like a literal angel walking amidst man, a demigod! My pussy throbbed and I tried to rub my thighs together to keep myself from opening it wide for him.

Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad to have a one night stand and lose my virginity to this man.
