2: The Billionaire Who Plays With Her Heart

Lilian bit her lower lip between her teeth, her hands gripping the fabric of her gown while she was standing in front of the door. It was screaming at her to go away, advising her that it wasn't the wisest choice to be there. She thought a lot. Should she just leave her phone like that and save her life? It was a lot better than standing up against that rude and mean male. But again, she had to have it back sometime or other.

Sighing, the young woman held up her hand, tapping the wooden door two times lightly. She was alarmed to apply more pressure, presuming that the human being behind this timber was quite temperamental. The clock's big needle passed one more digit but she was still standing there, debating with herself if she should knock again. With courage, she tapped again and squeezed her hands into each other, the anxiety eating her flesh bit by bit.

"One last time!" The words conversed inside her mind as her hand lifted again, her knuckles approximating the premium material but she instantly withdrew it behind her back after hearing the clicking sound from inside. Her heart started taking the pace of cheetahs.

Lilian watched the reveal of a half-naked man, her spirit blowing up like a bomb. There was again a raven towel wrapped around his waist while the upper body was on full display that anybody would want to put this dashing attractive piece of a human being in the museum. It looked like he had just taken a shower, the droplets of water were holding onto the threads of his silky hair while some had won the race and dropped on his shoulders, running down onto his chest in a flirty way. Her eyes looked at him like an owl, the scene too much for her innocent vision. His slightly tanned body with every muscle toned, without even a gram of fat exceeding the normal limit. Those six-pack abs and the shining chest were so luminous that her eyes almost squinted out in reflex. Thank lord there was this item called clothes or else every single female on this planet would have gawked and eaten him alive. Richard Tucker, why are you just so fine?

"What? Are you just gonna stand here and waste my time?"

The words smacked her consciousness, waking up her mind which was dreaming on its own. She shook her head, focusing on reality for now, "My phone! I forgot it in the room."

Richard gave her an unpleasant look while a big sigh left his mouth, "Wait here."

The door was sealed right in her face as the woman with a beating heart just stood there amazed. Like wow, and what! So his room was a forbidden place and this door was its boundary which she was not supposed to cross. Was he perhaps mad at her because she was in his room before?

'Stupid. Why are you even thinking of him? Shoo, go away. Don't think of him,' Lilian reminded herself, trying her best to get a hold of her young heart. It was rebelling inside to cross the boundaries of forbidden.

The door opened again, his hand already extended with a mobile in his hand. She took it immediately and almost enunciated a 'thank you' but the timber smiled at her to wave goodbye. He shut her out even before she uttered anything.

'Rude,' she thought with a tiny pout on her face as she walked down the hallway. The big dress she wore had started getting uncomfortable as it kept intertwining with her feet every two to three steps. What she needed at the moment was a long hot shower to vanish all the exhaustion which had piled up since the start of the day.

As the newlywed bride came across the last room, she halted with her fingertips touching the knob of the door while her eyes scanned the big empty hallway behind her. Her first night of marriage and she was already a mother! This was not a fairytale but rather a future she chose for herself. Not every woman is fated for that cliche romance and Lilian learned, she had topped that list.

Inhaling deeply, she twisted the handle and entered the room which supposedly belonged to her. Her eyes scanned the commodious space. There was this white and grey theme with a double bed in the centre. The curtains were pulled open to show the balcony decorated with few plants. There was this door at the very left corner, probably the washroom and the cupboard opposite to the bed, embedded in the wall. Her eyes noticed two familiar suitcases which were kept just adjacent to the cabinet, implying that she was allotted to this room even before the wedding.

Lilian closed the door and went near the bags, sitting on the floor as she planned to open the red one. She took out her pyjamas and a few essentials and walked towards the bathroom to take a nice shower to relax her tense body and tired mind.

The young lady was fast asleep under the soft covers, the exhausted body giving her the sweetest sleep she had experienced so far. Her dreamland was on a whole other level, the tooth fairy putting this angel to heavenly sleep. She was somewhere near a lake, the sky filled with clouds of different fun shapes. There was a breathtaking greenery with tulips all over the ground and she was watering the plants with a unicorn cup who were sipping water with their mouths. The butterflies were her gossip buddies and she was complaining to them about her rude and mean husband who had thrown her out of his room.

A loud knock was heard, and the wild animals started roaring in the background. The smiling butterflies suddenly started crying and the earth started splitting from the very far end, slowly approaching her. She just sat at the same place, the cup still in her hand as she screamed out loud when the earth below her cracked and...

Lilian realised that she was on the bed. She breathed heavily at the terrific moment in her dream, holding her palm close to her chest. She heard a loud knock on the door, her eyes moving to the wall clock which pointed at 4:30 am in the early morning. The door was knocked again, impatiently.

"COMING!" She shouted, tossing off the covers as she got out of bed. Who could that be at this hour? She wondered.
