THEON

I couldn’t lie to myself anymore. I was tired of pretending my whole world wasn’t precariously perched on the tip of her dainty finger, one flick and the world as I knew it would roll into oblivion.

Her hazel eyes were focused on mine, shining with emotion – especially of the disbelief variety. I must have been doing a good job of hiding it if the words rendered her this completely speechless.

“You’re the very center of my world, Alina. I had no idea what living was, what happiness felt like before you showed up and soaked me in them. My life didn’t exist before you, and it won’t exist after you. You know why?”

I waited until she shook her head slowly, indicating that she didn’t have the answer to the question I just asked, before I spoke again.

“Because there’s no life without you, Alina. There’s no me without you.”

Ava chose that particular moment to walk in, the sound of the front door as it clicked shut making me bite back a groan.

“Hi, darlings.” She called out chirpily, he

AUTHOR'S POVThe elevator finally comes to a stop at the thirtieth floor, and he offers me a nod just as the doors spill open.“Shall we?”My head moves in an answering nod and I follow him out of the elevator, walking into the penthouse suite of the hotel. If I thought the ground floor of this building was exquisite, then I was gravely mistaken. This place looks like a secret garden on the other side of the clouds.Roses are littered everywhere – red petals dotting the floor, floral arches bringing a softer pink set over our heads, and candles flickering with soft light that adds to the romantic vibe. The arrangement is so elegant that something constricts painfully in my chest. When we get to the bedroom and the final design comes into view, my feet grind to a halt. This is a proposal. The words “Marry Me” are written in designs of red and pink petals.Different varieties of a refusal start to dance around in my skull. This is so out of my field of thought that it makes me cringe. • My Billionaire Rebound   I WISH YOU WELL

THEONMy whole world was hazy. I was moving on nothing more than agitation and a fear that was so profound it would completely numb me if I let it. The beeping of machines that connected to Ava made my head pound, a sick feeling twisting my stomach every time I glanced at her – her frail frame, her pale skin. She looked on the brink of something dark.I shook my head to clear the thoughts that were traveling through my mind at the speed of light. One thing was certain, the woman I loved was in the hands of the same psycho who had tried to kill us both the last time we had seen him.Questions swam their way through my kind. How had he gotten to L.A so quickly and… how did he even know where to find them? Didn’t Aaron say he was just granted bail pending trial? How then had he escaped house arrest to…?All thought ground to a quick halt. There was no possible way Bryon could be in L.A, that meant one of two things. He was either bluffing – which really wasn’t his style – or he was pulli

ALINATerror coursed through me at the sound of the voice that came from the other room. Was that who I thought it was? But how? How had they…?Hold up. Was this part of their plan? Could she be a part of this disgusting scheme to get…?The thought was brought to an abrupt halt as Mandy strolled in, a gun swinging from her index finger and a sinister smile playing on her lips.“Guess who brought you company?” she giggled.I rolled my eyes, pushing the lump in my throat that sprang there as fear for Theon grew inside my chest. “For someone who’s so obsessed with having a child for the man she loves, you’re being awfully careless in your state.”“What are you? My doctor?”The tone was meant to carry sarcasm, but it missed its mark, given that I actually was a trained nurse.“Uhm… yeah. I am a trained nurse, Mandy.”Her face transformed into one of anger and then she held the gun the right way, pointing it in my direction as she glared at me.“It might be fun to kill a killjoy. Want me t
