BAB 16 I Cat Fight

The sound of footsteps from the hallway woke Mia. She suddenly got up from the bed and walked slowly towards the door to see who was behind. Her heart skipped a beat as she heard the faint sound of footsteps pacing back and forth along the hallway. Mia glanced at the clock above the nightstand. It was still one in the morning.

She slowly opened the door, and suddenly she was stunned to find Jaxon alone.

“What are you doing?” Mia asked with a low voice and made Jaxon, who was not focused on his surrounding, almost jump from his skin, but Mia didn’t feel guilty at all, even though she glared sharply at him. His hair, usually smooth and neat, looks messy as if he was only combing it with his fingers, while the buttons of his white shirt under his jacket are open to reveal his smooth broad chest skin.

Jaxon didn’t answer right away. He stared at Mia for a long time with an unusually gentle gaze.

“I asked, what are you doing, Jaxon,” Mia repeated.
