“Do you mind if I have a bath?“ Tris asked me.

With me? Maybe we can continue what we started this morning. And I can keep you safe.

“Of course,“ I said instead. I stepped forward to walk her up but she jumped off the stool. “Don't worry, I know where it is,“ she said and walked out. I felt a twinge of disappointment but that vanished when I watched her walk out. She was in my house, safe and sound. And hopefully she would be sleeping in my bed again tonight.

“You feel better now? Maybe you need a snickers?” Jane asked me in a joking tone. I flipped her off. “I have decided not to let Tris leave my eyesight or my house until Alexander is dead. Problem solved. He will get what's coming to him.” I said. Jane raised an eyebrow. ‘‘That seems highly not executable. What's this -very- unhealthy obsession with Tris, if I may ask?” She asked.
