Chapter 25

I was too tired to walk home today so I took a taxi. What I need the most right now is a glass of warm milk and my bed. I paid for my taxi when it stopped in front of my apartment building and then went inside. Lana should have gone home, maybe she's watching TV with Greg right now. Reaching into my bag for my keys while yawning, I heard a faint laugh from inside the apartment. I closed the apartment door and walked towards the source of the sound in the kitchen.

They were sitting at the dining table chatting. Lana, Greg ... and Nick. He turned around when he heard me enter and smiled at me. Nick was wearing a light blue shirt, no tie and no jacket. Her eyes looked at me warmly. "Eleanor."

I didn't smile back, I hid the surprise from my face and took the remaining seat next to him. Lana didn't cook tonight, she and Greg ordered chinese food which is now half gone on the table.

"Hey, there's dimsum! Thanks, Lana. I'm really hungry." I smiled at Lana who was laughing. Greg looked at the
