“Oh no, not again Stella. I’m not giving you a raise and that's final.” Mike told her in laughter as Stella gave a mock woebegone expression. 

“Hmm, no raise! Okay Mike, I will continue being your slave. But one day, the competition might come for me and then?” She told him slyly and Mike laughed once again. 

That’s another thing, apart from being his competent secretary, Stella has a good dose of humour and she was one of the few he could count on. Having worked with him for several years, Mike did trust her judgments and she had never been wrong whenever he asked her opinion on a sensitive matter, like he was doing now.
