Chapter Eight
Gemma was back at work the following day and the rest of the week went by very quickly. It was Friday and her and Kyle had a double date with Nicky and James.
"Hey, you, you guys ready for tonight?" Nicky popped her head around her office door and smiled.
"Hey there, yes, we're ready. I haven't seen Kyle since Tuesday and I kind of miss him. Since he dropped that bomb on me about me being the one for him. We are serious about each other, but it has never been that serious… And every time he phoned me the last couple of days, he made small talk and did not mention it again. The next morning Gemma woke up and found Skye in her bed. Her daughter must've come and climbed in somewhere during the night. She smiled and climbed out softly so as not to wake her. Gemma woke up feeling relaxed and happy. She looked at her phone and there was a message from Grant, and Nicky… Grant said the usual sweet good night and hoped she will dream of him, how cheesy, Gemma thought to herself and smiled.
