"We will never get along, Lexi,” Finn Mars said to Lexi Pierce. “I’m a dog person, and you're a cat person.” She nodded. “I know… You love to party, and I don't.” "I'm not really much into reading. I like hiking and swimming,” Finn said, lowering his head and brushing his lips to hers. “But if I'm a dog, I want to imprint on you and follow you around.” Lexi sighed, reached for his mouth, and nibbled playfully on his bottom lip. "I hate to admit it, but if I'm a cat, I want you to become my favorite person.” Like their choice of pets, they argued a lot, fighting like cats and dogs, but then he fell in love with her bossy secretary. Despite being different, if they learn to tolerate each other, they can be friends, but he was hopeful they would be more than that.

The president of Absolute Glam stopped at one table and talked to an important guest. Her lips curved a sweet smile at the country’s ambassador, and she nodded, probably acknowledging something he had said. For two years of running the company, she had truly made the shareholders happy with her performance, and with her lineup of perfumes and cosmetics innovations, the sales rose, something my father would have loved to see.
I heaved a sigh, watching my brother walk toward her, giving her a quick kiss on her cheek, and despite being married, twice, she still blushed with just a peck.
Where on earth would I find another woman like her? Not only was she an epitome of true beauty, but she has also become a symbol of the company and the genius behind Mars Group of Companies.
“Don’t stare too much, Finn. People might think you’re jealous,” Frank teased me.
“Who wouldn’t? Too bad I couldn’t add her to my collection.” I chuckled. I took the wine glass from the table without breaking my gaze at my beautiful sister-in-law.
Knowing my bad reputation with women, Frank laughed briefly and raised his eyebrows as he watched me sip my wine. I heaved a sigh, sniffing, pretending to cry as I savored the sweetness of the red wine, tasting like milk. Like milk…
I pressed my lips, stopping myself from muttering a curse, and looked at my young dates. The truth, among the bachelors here, I was the luckiest to have four dates.
Young.
Smart.
Beautiful.
Leyanne grinned at me, suppressing a giggle when she and her sisters naughtily switched my glass with hers.
“Where’s my wine?” I forced a smile at one of the triplets, looking beautiful in her red floral dress. “I hope you didn’t drink it because your mother would surely give me a beating.”
The triplets, Leyanne, Lyra Helene, and Selene, were like replicas of their mother, and just like Angela, they got a piece of her big brain, producing three geniuses.
Leyanne shook her head. “Olivia drank it.”
My sister only smiled, looked elsewhere, and then pretended to answer some chats on her smartphone. I wanted to snatch her phone to check her messages, and just like my brother, we wanted to know every guy she claimed as her friend. Maybe Sky and I were afraid she would meet guys like us, especially like me.
I clucked my tongue. “This is why I don’t date young girls,” I shook my head and raised one corner of my mouth to show my disappointment.
When I raised my wine glass with white liquid instead of red, Frank pressed his lips tight to suppress a laugh.
“You get milk not from…” I leaned my head and whispered to him, “not from the glass but one’s breast.” I looked at them; the girls grabbed their toys and Olivia her bag from the table. “What? Where are you going? The night is still young!” I said to my little dates.
“I’m sleepy, Uncle Finn,” Lyra Helene said, kissing me on the cheek.
“You broke my heart,” I said, pretending to cry, and whenever I do that, my nieces would release a cute laugh, amused at my little drama. “Let’s break up,” I teased them, making Frank chuckle.
Olivia rolled her eyes. “Find a real girlfriend, Finn, so you won’t have to bring us to all Sky’s events,” she smirked and kissed me on the cheek. “Don’t just play around.”
I smirked at her. “Better keep your smartphone well, Olivia, because I have plans on checking your phone tonight,” I warned her, but I was only teasing my sister. “I would answer all your messages and send a picture of you drooling while sleeping.”
She sneered at me, keeping her phone in her small purse. “You do that, and I’d hate you forever!”
Frank put his arm on her shoulders and nudged her head. “Don’t believe your brother. Finn’s just teasing you. He’s just afraid you’ll meet someone exactly like him,” he said, emphasizing the last three words.
I hissed at him. “For a friend, you’re really supportive,” I said, but he only laughed at me because it was true. I never had a good reputation when it came to women, and if not for the nagging of my brother, I doubt if I would ever graduate from college. If I didn’t meet Angela, I would never strive hard to learn the business. Having the same age, I guess we both enjoyed the competition.
I watched them leave, and when my brother glanced in my direction, I raised my wine glass with milk on it, showing how naughty his kids were. He laughed at me and nodded his head, his silent way of saying goodbye.
Bored already, I rose to my feet, took a wine glass from the waiter, and walked toward the elevator. I pressed the rooftop, hoping to enjoy the beauty of the night in the rooftop garden, but my drink was already empty when the lift reached the top.
Sighing, I walked toward the decked seats hidden by the wooden pergola that created intriguing shadows tonight because of the full moon. I was about to sit when my eyes saw a moving shadow, puffing out smoke in the dark.
“Hi, there, handsome,” A female voice greeted seductively.
One corner of my mouth lifted. What a lucky night!
“Bored?” She asked, sipping her glass of wine.
“Very!” I smiled wickedly. “Want to entertain me?” I asked, hoping she would say yes. The dim light from the post made it difficult to judge if she was gorgeous, but when she rose to her feet and walked toward me, I was sure of her hourglass body because of the sexy dress she was wearing.
I breathed hard when she sat beside me and placed her hand on my pants, her fingers playing on my pants’ zipper.
Naughty! I liked her already.
I couldn’t guess whether her wavy hair was brown or darker or her eyes brown or hazel. All I knew was she was beautiful and seemed ready to play a game with me.
She rested her head on my shoulder, puckering her soft lips on my cheek. For a woman who smoked, she smelled sweet and pleasant, but the familiar scent of her perfume made me realize she had probably tried the samples at the party a while ago.
“Want to play with me, sweetheart?” I asked her. If she agreed with me, I would probably have her here since we were perfectly hidden.
Her fingers left my zipper in peace and placed her index finger on my lips. “I’m sorry, sweetheart, but I’m not one of those women who play for free.”
A woman of the street! I sighed at the thought but smiled. “How much?” I asked, brushing my lips to hers.
“I’m expensive,” she said, standing up and taking her empty wine glass.
I scoffed, getting my wallet and taking all the money I had. I never spent much cash since I always used my credit or debit cards. I placed the hefty money bills on the center table, making her smile.
“That’s a lot,” she flickered her eyes on the paper bills, then to me.
“I’m bored, and I wanted to be entertained,” I smiled wickedly at her, gazing at her as if my eyes could take off her dress that way.
“Let me enchant you then,” she smiled, sitting beside me, opening my pants button, and pulling off the zipper of my pants, freeing my hard manhood. “Whew! You’re one perfect Adonis,” she whispered as her hand perfectly held my shaft, stroking me slowly.
I leaned on the seat’s backrest and craned my neck, breathing out at the pleasure her hand was giving.
“Enjoying?” She asked me in her sexy voice.
I chuckled. “It would be very enjoyable if you put my member in your mouth and take off that dress.”
“Close your eyes and be ready as I unleash my power,” she whispered, licking the tip of my manhood. She laughed when I moaned and raised her head again to plant a kiss on my lips. Whatever kind of game she was doing, she was entertaining me, but I wondered if she was really a prostitute because she looked nervous.
She licked her lips and smiled naughtily at me as she stood before me and swayed her body sexily to the music she could only hear.
“Close your eyes, sweetheart,” she parted her lips and smiled seductively at me.
Laughing briefly at her, I closed my eyes, but I took a secret look in which she caught me. I saw her taking off her shoes and carefully placing them on the table.
“No peeking,” she chuckled. “What’s your name, sweetheart?”
“Finn. And you?” I asked as I closed my eyes and smiled while waiting for her to throw her clothes at me.
“Lex,” she answered. “Your one big illusion,” she chuckled and threw her little dress at me. She kissed my lips, but this time it was passionate and longing while she stroked my shaft, aching to be inside her. “Don’t open your eyes yet, Finn.”
She released my hard member, and I felt her standing up again. I smiled at the thought of what Lex would do, but seconds passed, nothing happened, and she became quiet.
“Lex?” I called, slowly opening my eyes, but the beautiful woman who promised to enchant me was gone.
The money on the table was not there as well. I clucked my tongue, shook my head, and slowly placed my excited manhood back in hiding when I realized what had just happened to me.
Lex managed to steal a march on me by outwitting me with her magic and disappearing before me. Standing up furiously, I promised myself that when I saw her again, she would have to give me the service I paid her for.
(Finn’s POV) Five years later… As I talked to my brother, I leaned on my chair, propping my elbows on the table as I massaged my temple. Lexi had been giving me a hard time lately, and no matter how I explained to her that I didn’t care about not having children, I would still find her crying in the middle of the night. “Sky, I don’t know what to do. We could adopt one if she really wanted a baby-” I wanted to cry at my brother. “Just be patient with her, Finn. We all know how much she has wanted to have her own child since the day she saw her nephew. And for sure, she’s having this kind of low feeling again because her twin sister just gave birth.” I heaved a sigh. “I know, but she was making me crazy lately.” “You know what? You two need a break. Why don’t you bring her on a date? Give all your time to her tonight,” he suggested. “You’re right. Maybe I’ve been working too hard,” I muttered. “Thanks, brother. Please, come home already. Be there on the weekend, okay?” Sky chuck
(Finn’s POV)My sister-in-law walked with my brother onto the stage and curved a sweet smile on her lips as she looked at everyone. Six months ago, I was here, watching my brother and my gorgeous sister-in-law make a very special announcement about the success of the company’s new project. At that time, I wondered where I would find another woman like Angela, but now, Frank and I were seated in the same spot with our own date. This wasn’t a big party, but a gathering with our family, friends, and relatives, wanting to be part of Angela and Sky’s number of babies reveal. Their children, three girls and two boys, were excitedly seated in front, and like us, they also had their guesses on the gender and number of babies.“This is insane and fun!” Anya exclaimed as she and Dylan joined us at the table.“Well, that’s our Angela,” He laughed. “So, let’s have our guess. One! Just one.”“One?” Frank shook his head. “Could be two, another twin.” He looked at Lexa. “What’s your guess, baby?”Le
(Lexi’s POV)It had been a month since the incident happened, and before Sky and Finn went on a business trip, he decided that the three of us stay in the mansion after the trauma from the Travis siblings. He even talked to Jocelyn, who seldom visited their home, to stay with us for a while. She happily obliged, but deep inside, I knew how much she loved the idea. But I think the one who enjoyed this setup the most was Elenita. She entered the family room and brought us snacks. Another maid came in with a tray filled with glasses, a pitcher of orange juice, and a cup of coffee for Jocelyn. She was sitting on the egg chair and reading Aliyah a book.“Lexi, Lexa,” called Elenita. “Sky’s looking for you in the garden.”“Sky’s back?” Lexa stood up.I pressed my lips, suppressing a smile because we were sure my twin sister was not excited about Sky coming back but about the man he was with.“Is he alone? Do you want me to call Angela?” Her eyes were hopeful as she looked at Elenita.“If Sk
(Finn’s POV)For how long I had been staring at the cross, I didn’t know. I was about to head back to the hotel, but my feet dragged me to the prayer room where Angela would usually go whenever we were here. As I sat in the front row and looked at the relic of the cross, I sniffled, wishing I was like my sister-in-law, having a big heart and full of faith in something she had never seen in her life.I wasn’t religious, but at this point, I wanted to believe that everything happened for a reason, wishing for miracles and hoping this would soon be over. If only I knew Lexi would get hurt, I should have just stayed in France and didn’t bother coming back.“Hey!” Angela muttered softly, sitting beside me and resting her head on my shoulder.Frank sat on my other side and noticed he had showered and changed his clothes. “Sky is waiting for your decision, Finn.”I took a deep breath. “Send her flowers. Make sure to order her favorites and tell the florist to make a beautiful one.”He nodded
(Finn’s POV)The sky was gravel-gray, looking somber as it waited for the large pillows of clouds to cover the sky. I never liked it when the sky looked sad because its color reflected the seawater, making the sea body melancholic… lifeless. I sighed, thinking it would rain any moment, but instead of looking for shelter, I stepped forward, going to the shore and stopping when the white foam of waves kissed my feet.My eyebrows knitted as my eyes fixed on the horizon, remembering I had been in this place, but I could not pinpoint when or why I was here. When I lowered my gaze, I saw a starfish washed to the shore, softly hitting my toes. I took a deep breath, thinking this had happened before.I closed my eyes and asked myself when or how.Ah, Freya! Now I realized this place didn’t exist, but I was in a state of unreality, a dream I had a few years ago. Only now, I was alone, but when I had this dream, Freya and I went into the water and swam as we loved swimming. And then we sat on t
(Lexi’s POV)The burly man in the black suit was in the corner of the room; his hands and feet were tied, and his mouth was gagged with a cloth, preventing him from screaming. It was his restrained scream that woke me up.I hardly knew him, but when I woke up earlier, I saw him watching the nurse’s every move, only leaving his post when Jocelyn entered my room. He must be one of the Mars’ security details, but his face was unfamiliar to me since Finn never had one. After what Chelsea did, I understood the danger of being alone in the hospital, but I thought it was too much since I was not an important person to guard.Who would want to kill me?He eyed the young man lying on the floor, and his eyes moved like he was pointing at the man standing and facing the light switch. I pressed the call button, hoping the nurse or anyone would see my emergency call immediately. If my wound were totally healed, I would have filled the room with my scream to get help, but as the man with the syring
