Chapter 42: The sweater

Anna's pov

Words were easier said than done.

Even though I made my resolution that I will get over this, my resolve quickly melted away when I had to go to school the next day.

Mom was supportive and told me it was best. I went to school so Caleb won't think that I was so hung up on him that an ordinary rejection would make me skip school.

I was apprehensive but I went to school early as usual.

I didn't cry anymore after mom talked to me yesterday, I fell asleep in her embrace and was only woken up when mom called me to eat dinner last night.

I was careful to look out for Caleb so I won't run into him but I was more careful about the new guy.

I didn't want to come across him and felt like I was trying to avoid Vincent all over again.

The only difference was that Vincent was finer.

I would say that the rest of the day was uneventful since I tried my best to stay out and haven't gone to the secret hideout since my last encounter with Caleb.
