Steve pov:

*One week later*

I walked briskly towards the medical shop, my heart racing with anxiety. The doctor had prescribed some medicine for my mother, and I couldn't afford to waste any time. 

As soon as I got the medicine, I ran towards my mother's room, my breath coming in short gasps. My father was there, sitting beside her, looking worried. 

He made my mother sit up and carefully put the tablet inside her mouth, making her drink some water to help with the swallowing. 

I collapsed on a chair by the side, feeling exhausted. It had been one whole week since I had slept properly, and the fatigue was catching up with me. 

I couldn't leave my mother alone, not even for a minute. It was my fault she was in this situation. I was determined to keep her safe, no matter what.
