The forest fell into a deathly silence.

Every wolf—friend and foe alike—stared at the towering creature emerging from the darkness.

Its body was as large as a small house. Six crimson eyes glowed like burning coals, and black mist rolled from its fur with every breath. Long silver fangs protruded from its mouth, scraping against one another with a chilling sound.

Luna instinctively stepped closer to Ethan.

"What... is that?"

Scar lowered his head.

"Fenrir."

The name alone made the surrounding wolves tremble.

Even King Darius's soldiers took an uneasy step backward.

Fenrir stopped in the middle of the clearing.

His six eyes slowly swept across everyone before settling on Luna.

With a single wave of Darius's hand, hundreds of warriors charged.

The forest erupted into chaos.

Scar met the first wave with a deafening roar, sending several soldiers crashing into the trees.

The white wolf raced across the battlefield like a streak of moonlight, knocking enemies aside with astonishing speed.

Fenrir struck the ground with one massive paw.

The earth split apart.

Dozens of soldiers lost their footing as cracks spread through the clearing.

Luna pulled Ethan behind a fallen tree.

"Can you stand?"

Ethan's voice sounded weak, but the silver glow in his eyes had not faded.

His wounds had almost completely healed.

He stared at his own hands in disbelief.

"How is this possible?"

Before Luna could answer, an arrow whistled through the air.

She never saw it coming.

Without thinking, he threw himself in front of her.

The silver arrow pierced his shoulder.

"Ethan!"

He staggered backward but refused to fall.

Something inside him snapped.

His heartbeat thundered through his ears.

The silver light surrounding him burst outward like an explosion.

A powerful shockwave swept across the battlefield, throwing nearby soldiers into the air.

Even Fenrir looked surprised.

The vision vanished.

Ethan dropped to one knee, gasping for breath.

Luna grabbed his hand.

He looked at her with confusion.

Every wolf in the clearing fell silent.

Luna looked at Ethan.

Scar finally answered.

"For generations, the Silver Guardians protected the Wolf Queen."

"They would rather die than let harm come to her."

Luna stared at Ethan.

Fenrir stepped beside Scar.

"We can't win this battle."

Darius smiled.

"I wasn't trying to defeat you."

"I was buying time."

The ground suddenly shook.

From deep within the forest, a giant stone gate slowly rose from beneath the earth.

Ancient runes glowed across its surface.

Luna felt a sharp pain in her chest.

The gate...

It felt familiar.

Without realizing it, she took one step toward it.

The runes burst into brilliant silver light.

The gate began to open.

A warm voice echoed from beyond.

"Welcome home... Your Majesty."

Everyone stopped fighting.

Even Darius's confident expression faded.

"No..."

"It shouldn't be opening."

Scar's crimson eyes widened.

"The Moon Gate..."

"The kingdom has accepted her."

Before anyone could react, a beam of silver light shot from the gate and surrounded Luna.

A powerful wind swept through the battlefield.

Luna reached for Ethan.

He grabbed her hand.

For one brief moment, their fingers touched.

The light pulled Luna away.

She vanished.

The beam disappeared.

The gate slammed shut with a thunderous boom.

Silence filled the forest.

Ethan stared at the empty space where his wife had been.

His voice cracked.

"Luna..."

King Darius clenched his fists.

"No!"

He had searched for the Wolf Queen for twenty years.

She had escaped him again.

Ethan slowly rose to his feet.

The silver glow returned to his eyes.

This time, it was brighter than ever.

He looked directly at Darius.

His voice was calm.

Cold.

Filled with a determination no one had heard before.

He took a single step forward.

Luna slowly turned around.

Sitting upon the ancient Moon Throne was a woman with silver hair, eyes identical to Luna's, and a crown that shone like the full moon.

She smiled sadly.

"My daughter..."

Luna's breath caught in her throat.

The woman slowly stood.

"I have waited twenty years to tell you the truth."
