Chapter 2

ผู้เขียน: Eggs Tomato
She sounded really confident, and her eyes glinted.

I knew why she was this confident. After all, I had endured everything to take care of her for seven years.

Everyone knew that I loved her a lot.

However, she did not know that the moment I found out I had been lied to for seven years, I had contacted a certain person.

“Gwen, you lied to me for seven years. Was it fun for you?”

Gwen lost her patience.

She frowned impatiently and said angrily, “Zac, enough!

“I’ve apologized to you. What more do you want me to do?

“It’s such a small matter. Do you have to be so petty?”

I wanted to speak, but her phone rang.

It was a customized ringtone of a man singing.

“Alright, I’ll come over now.”

Gwen hung up and turned to leave. She suddenly stopped in her tracks as though she had recalled something.

She turned to me.

“I have something urgent to tend to. You should head home and make dinner.”

Gwen sighed in defeat when she saw that I was still silent. She spoke, as though she was comforting me.

“I know you can’t live without me. I’ll be back very soon. I’ll return with your favorite snack later.”

I looked at her as she left in a rush, and I felt a heavy feeling in my chest. I almost could not breathe.

The seven years I had wasted meant nothing to her.

She did not even bother to explain everything to me with sincerity.

I left.

When I passed by a playground, I was knocked to the ground by a man who was in a rush.

He seemed very anxious.

He sized me up before saying disdainfully, “Such bad luck!”

I grabbed him. I was overwhelmed with anger.

“Apologize!”

He glanced at me incredulously. He said disdainfully, “Why? Are you trying to blame me for this?

“You better not. You don’t know who my older brother and my sister-in-law are. You can’t afford to offend them!”

As he said that, he waved toward a couple standing nearby. He sounded excited. “Vincent, Gwen, you’re here!

“This man’s making me late on purpose!”

I looked over and met Gwen’s gaze across the crowd.

She was smiling. Both she and Vincent Scott were holding a little girl’s hands.

My gaze fell upon the little girl, Sandy Scott. I saw a gold necklace around her neck.

It was my family heirloom.

In the past, to use the expensive equipment to sustain Gwen’s life, I had no choice but to sell my family heirloom when I ran out of money.

When I came back to my senses, I was already running toward Sandy.

I reached out and forcefully tore the necklace off her neck.

My fingers trembled. Sandy was screaming and crying.

The next second, bodyguards subdued me. Gwen shielded Sandy and looked at me in anger.

She looked at me as though I was not her husband but her enemy.

“Zac, you’ve overstepped!”

“I overstepped?! Gwen, you know how important this necklace is to me!

“Besides…”

I clenched my fists and took a deep breath. I said hoarsely, “You’re having an affair! Don’t you have anything to say about that?”

Vincent, who was quiet throughout our conversation, chuckled. He stepped forward, wrapped his arm around Gwen, and said teasingly, “Affair?

“I’m afraid you’re confused as to who is the actual homewrecker in this situation.”

I suddenly realized something and looked at Gwen in shock.

At the same time, she leaned against Vincent’s chest and said, “That’s right. It’s exactly like you think.

“Our marriage certificate is fake. Vincent and I are legally married.”

Before I could say anything, she stepped forward and grabbed the gold necklace from my hand. She gave it back to Sandy.

The next second, Sandy threw the gold necklace onto the ground.

“I don’t want it anymore!”

Both families were pleased with our relationship, and they immediately threw an engagement party for us. Since then, we lived a happy and fulfilling life like any other couple in love. It was not until the summer that Gwen suggested all of us have a beach holiday. The weather was unexpectedly bad, but she insisted on swimming in the ocean. I saw her swimming further into the distance, and I kept screaming because I knew she could not swim. The wind got stronger, and the tides grew higher. Then, I heard Gwen’s cries for help. Before I realized it, my father rushed forward. It had happened all too quickly. Within a few minutes, I saw my father stranded in the waves. Then, I saw my mother rushing over. When I took out my phone to call for help, my mother was holding my father’s hand. I saw both of them pulling Gwen toward the shore. When I saw the three of them getting closer, I felt relieved. Suddenly, there was a huge wave. I saw my parents suddenly push Gwen

I wanted to drive away, but Gwen suddenly blocked the road and stood in front of our car.She yelled, “Zac, I was wrong! I was wrong! I’m sorry!“Please don’t abandon me, alright?”It was nighttime. Some neighbors yelled out of their windows. “Are you crazy? Do you know what time it is? This is insane!”“If you shout again, I’ll call the police!”Gwen, who usually cared about her image a lot, disregarded their warnings. She just kept apologizing to me.I sat in the car in silence and ignored Gwen. I just looked down at my phone as I bought flight tickets. “Will a flight two hours from now be okay with you?”“Sure.”“Zac, please…”I looked up. It was raining heavily again. Gwen was standing next to our car window. Rain and tears streamed down her cheeks. She looked like a mess. Gwen had never looked this bad before. The next second, Vincent showed up with Sandy. Vincent grabbed Gwen and pointed at Sandy as he yelled something at her. I saw Sandy faint and fall t

I grimaced and hung up on her without any hesitation. I looked at the photo of us that I had hung in the living room. It was the only photo I had of us.It was obviously photoshopped. Gwen was frowning in the photo, and she looked angry. I was smiling ear-to-ear beside her. I took down the photo. Then, I casually tossed it in the trash. I walked to my bed and took out a locked metal case from underneath it. I unlocked it and took out the things that were inside. I had stored the little gifts Gwen had given me ever since we met. There were the love letters she had written to me, as well as my diary that I had kept for the past seven years. I threw all of them into the trash. Finally, I took off the bracelet on my hand and placed it on the table. Just as I was about to leave, someone barged in.Gwen appeared before me. She was panting. She looked like a mess. She walked toward me with teary eyes and grabbed my hand. She sounded a little desperate. “Zac, please let m

I struggled to carry Luna out of the car. Her face was pale and covered in blood, but she was still smiling at me. “You saved me in the past. I finally got a chance to save you…”I teared up. Just as I was about to say something, I heard a familiar voice shouting, “Zac, save me!” I looked over subconsciously. It was Gwen. She was the one who had rammed her car into ours. She looked at me expectantly as she lay in a pool of her own blood. I looked away and hugged Luna tightly. Luna was trying to get something out of her pocket. I saw a gold necklace in her hand. It was the gold necklace that Sandy had thrown away! Luna placed that into my palm and said weakly, “It’s yours. “I found it for you.” After that, she lightly touched my forehead and smiled. “Don’t frown. “Just be happy.” I looked at the necklace stained with blood and felt a warmth in my heart. Tears streamed down my face. “Thank you, Luna.” Luna and Gwen were both taken to the hospital in the s

The woman chuckled. She called me in front of everyone. “I’m here to take my husband, Zac, back home.”“How’s Zac your husband? What’re you talking about? He’s my…”Gwen suddenly seemed to realize something and stopped. She looked frantic. Luna Anderson gestured, and a dozen bodyguards started looking around the mansion for me. “He’s here!” I was led out of the kitchen. My pale frame emerged before the crowd. “Isn’t that the idiot who took care of his comatose wife for seven years without giving up?”“That’s right, why is he here?”“None of us know who his wife is. Does she have anything to do with Gwen?”I grimaced and stared coldly at Gwen. Gwen could not help but tremble. Her heart pounded against her chest. Luna walked forward and helped me up. She looked extremely upset to see me hurt. “I’m taking you home.” When we walked past Gwen, she suddenly grabbed me and said frantically, “Zac, where are you going?“This is your home! You can’t leave!”Immediately

I walked into the kitchen in silence and started to make dinner. My phone buzzed. [I’m too excited! You don’t even have to get a ticket. I’ll come and pick you up.]I had just replied to the text when Gwen walked in. She looked at my phone and asked in confusion, “Who are you talking to?“Aside from me, who do you have to talk to?”I was just about to say something when she waved the files in her hand. “By the way, I’m taking all these as Vincent’s birthday present.”I trembled in shock and lost control of my knife. I slashed my hand open. “What are you doing?” Vincent walked forward to hug Gwen. However, she turned around anxiously and covered Vincent’s eyes. “Don’t look. “You’re afraid of blood.“This is your birthday present. Happy birthday!” Vincent took the files and flipped through them. Then, he looked at me smugly. “Isn’t this the core technology developed by the Reid family? Why are you giving me their lifelong project?” “Zac can’t use it anyway now th
