Matthew

Both of us blended in silence. Lebrille hid in the depths of my head. His words steadily crushed my chest. As the seconds passed by swiftly, I perceived the harrowing weight pressing against me.

Was I being unfair to Mandy all this time?

I lost all the wild emotions stirring inside me like a strong gust of wind. Lebrille’s unbothered honesty left me leaning weakly against my chair.

The incident flashed in my head repeatedly. I felt like I was taken back to the time I saw Claire lying on the floor. Everything was as clear as the day. I’ve seen enough of Claire’s tears to blame Mandy at once.

But as her mate, as the man who has always been supported by Mandy, I didn’t even let a word escape from my mouth to ask what happened, nor to defend her if the possibility of her innocence was there. I took Claire out and settled my naive mind that Mandy did everything out of jealousy.

I assumed instead of having my ears on Mandy.

A crushing pain encircled my heart. What if Mandy was reall

Matthew“That’s enough boys.” The trackers lost the amber yellow on their eyes. They turned around and a man was approaching the gate from the mansion. The two quickly bowed their heads in respect. “I see… it’s you.” He said calmly as he locked those cold eyes on me. “Forgive us, Alpha Marcel. But this bastard doesn’t want to go despite our warnings.” “It’s alright. You may leave for now. I will handle this.” The trackers without any complaints bowed again and left the two of us. The other one threw another deathly glare as he walked away. “What do you want?” he asked. “Alpha Marcel!” I exclaimed while holding the steel bar gate that separates us. I called out to him like I was a criminal pleading for my case. “Please let me in. I have to see Mandy.” I waited for him to move an inch. I waited to see if he’s going to let me in or at least tell me about Mandy. But all I got was a deep breath. With that, I realized he wouldn’t let me in too. My tensed shoulders loosened. Those t

MatthewMy heart pounded swiftly along with the loud engine of my black panther. I drove like a madman, leaving some tire marks on the road. I could hear some horns blowing ceaselessly behind me as I passed them.“Out of my way!” I aggressively turned the steering wheel to the left to avoid a white slow-moving car driving like he was on the way to a camping trip. The horn blew rapidly to inform me how much of a jerk I am on the road. But their horns didn’t even ring in my ears. I stepped on the accelerator like a bunch of cops were chasing me.All of this was because of the shattering news I heard from my mother.“This can’t be real…” I whispered, my jaw tensed inside the car.The rapid beatings of my heart couldn’t even match my car engine. The unsettling sound it produced made me want to fly just to reach the Snowridge pack.Getting into an accident, damaging my expensive car, receiving a violation ticket, pissing off everyone on the road — none of it mattered. All I cared about was

MatthewPerhaps I’ve gone mad. I never intended to track the time. But ever since I lost Mandy by my side, every second that passed had walked through in my mind. It’s been 10 days, 6 hours, and half an hour since Claire told me she ran away. And the arms of time continue to go on without Mandy.I shoved my phone on the desk closer to me. There were no notifications. Not even a single text from her. Mandy vanished like a bubble into thin air. No trace at all.“Lebrille… why do you think Mandy left?”For the first few seconds, I was ignored, until I heard a mocking scoff.“Shouldn’t you ask that to yourself?”I heaved a single sigh. I understand that Lebrille was still upset, so I tried to set my pride aside to ask for his opinion. After all, there’s no one to ask for such kind of advice.“I wanted to ask Mandy instead. But I don’t know how to reach her. Do you have any idea where she went?”“Now, you’re asking my opinion.”I slammed the desk in my room. The loud thud from the wooden s

MandyI pointed at a dress inside a glass closet.“Can I try that one please?”The shop assistant nodded and politely excused herself. The noise didn’t settle down. The loud cheers and giggles were still ringing in my ear. Even without batting an eye on them, I could clearly see their beloved smiles. The magic still lingered around the shop.Unlike them, I couldn’t even think of a single person that would share this moment. Nor cheer for the milestone of my life. Though it was just business related. Because ever since I moved in with Matthew, the naive me thought it was only right to cut off some bridges. For I am devoting myself to the man of my dreams.I dropped some contacts with my so-called friends. Until now, I could sense the slightest ounce of guilt for abandoning them. I shifted my world solely focusing on Matthew. But now, I regret everything. I regret every decision I made prioritizing the love I thought would give a fairy tale ending. If only I was smart enough to know the

MandyI went to the shop on my own accord. My father didn’t have to ask me. I would still bring my foot on the doorstep of this shop, even if it means I have to drag myself.Since this was just a wedding out of business, I was standing out along with the fine silk of white wedding dresses and the sweet smile of the future brides. Not because there is something special with me, but simply because I was wearing the most grave expression while walking around the aisles. Almost bearing little to no expression as I scanned through the dresses. There are no fairy tale-like moments with someone, and no magical dust flying around me.There was no spark at all. Just a casual day of buying something. Unlike everybody else.I wasn’t expecting the place to be this crowded. All of the mirrors were occupied by a woman who checked every detail of the dress.“It’s meant to be, my dear. Take it.”A voice emerged behind me.“Really, Mom?”I turned around and witnessed the smile plastered brightly on th
